His foot turns in when he walks and stumbles every so often because of it. The brace keeps his foot a lot straighter which is great. The brace goes under the insole of the shoe so we may order another brace so he doesn't have to change take it out to put into a different shoe. All in all very happy with it. 5Great Product - No More Sprains! This brace doesn't stabilize your ankle, basically it stabilizes your shoe so it can't move from side to side. And, if you're shoe can't move from side to side, you can't turn your ankle! My right ankle is very weak. When running, if I step on a rock or the edge of the sidewalk, my ankle turns and I get a sprain. Your ankle can't turn wearing these.3 years ago I sprained my right ankle THREE TIMES in one day hitting the potholes in Michigan! My ankle swelled up and I couldn't run for a month. I bought this the next week. No sprained ankle in 3 years!!!!I don't even need to wear this anymore, but do as a precautionary. 5I recommend to all my friends with ankle injuries or weak anklesI twisted my ankle pretty badly several months ago. My doctor said I should avoid a second sprain while it healed (for two months) to prevent permanently stretching my ligaments. I wore this whenever I worked out (treadmill, hiking, Orange Theory) for about 6 months after my injury, long after my ankle pain was gone. It is so nice and flexible you will forget it's even there. It gave me so much confidence even when my ankle was still tender. I don't think you physically could roll your ankle in it. Now that I'm healed up my trainer recommended not wearing it, so my ankle can get stronger in all the little stabilizer muscles. But I actually bought a second one so that I can wear one on each ankle during long 10+ mile hikes, where my ankles tend to get wobbly by the end. I tried several ankle braces and this was by far my favorite. 5Great ankle protection for basketball WITHOUT limiting mobilityReliable! I've been wearing T2's on both ankles since around 2002 while playing basketball and have never sprained my ankle with them. I have MANY times without them (leading to numerous xrays.) I am a smaller, quick, high-energy, type player and these have been fantastic while not limiting my mobility.TIP: Insert them under your insoles for better cushioning from the plastic base, and leave them in your shoes when not wearing, to make it easier to just slip into each time. 5the brace saved her from an injury that could have been worse. The ER doctor was worried she had torn ...I purchased these ankle braces for my daughter. She plays club volleyball. Our club requires that all players wear them. I am so grateful that it s required. My daughter had these braces on when her foot slipped on the court. She could not stop and fell forward. The look on her face said it all. She broke her ankle. The ER doctor said even though it was a broken, the brace saved her from an injury that could have been worse. The ER doctor was worried she had torn her ligaments. The orthopedic surgeon also said the ankle braces saved her from an injury that would have required surgery. I m relieved to say no torn ligaments. It was a clean break of the distal fibula. She will make a full recovery. After such a hard fall, the ankle braces are intact. We purchased the Eclipse II ankle braces today. She will need ankle braces that offer more support than this one when she returns to the court mid-April. 5Re-ordering and getting an extra pair!I purchased the Active Ankle T2 braces for my daughter. She plays school and club volleyball and soccer. She only wears these when she's playing volleyball (front middle and right). My daughter runs, jumps, dives, and digs like she's made of rubber. I still worry but I know she has the best protection available. I've seen many of her teammates get injured but so far we have been blessed. She's only been taped once and it left her with a huge blister so I'm going to also purchase a less rigid pair of Active guards rather than have her suffer from latex or poor taping methods (in fact she'll wear these when she's playing soccer). Unfortunately my daughter took her T2 guards off while she was line judging at a tournament and they disappeared. I'm guessing that someone else is currently singing the praises of that pair. She has another tournament this weekend coming and I'm not at all interested in her playing 3 - 4 matches each day without the support of Active guards so you have no idea how happy I am that the price has dipped a little. If your child is an athlete give her/him the best protection you can. That way when she or he leaps, jumps, dives, sprints, or lands you can spend more time cheering and less time worrying and trying to stop your stomach from flipping. The only con is that my daughter complained that the guards hurt after hours of wear. That was an easy fix... take them off between matches (unless she's playing back to back matches).... now I just need to ensure that from now on when she takes them off that she puts them in her sports bag! 5Defective and terrible and horrible business conduct!!!Got this brace a few days ago for my daughter who hurt her ankle and can not play spirts without. I was recommended this one for soccer it can on bottom all dirty and bottom pad was even ripped and the sticky part was stuck to bag it came in and looked used but she had a game so she had to wear ended up hurting ankle even more because side clamps were rough and did not live with foot ended so mad at game cause she could not finish and now is out for 4 more weeks ended up throwing this brace out right at game. Do not recommend it at all ...added one week later also very disappointing when you buy something and no one care that they sold you something that was not in good condition and do not even try to make it right not someone you want to do business with so be aware!!!! 1Good support for healthy ankles, too painful for injured ankles to "break-in"Bought this about a month after an ankle surgery, when I was about to switch from airboot back to wear a normal shoe on the injured side. I wanted additional support on the ankle to be sure that I wouldn't break it again. But as I was browsing through the amazon reviews, I couldn't make up my mind for this one or the laced-with-strap one#1 Laced Ankle Brace With Stabilizing Strap For Flexible Support. Breathable Neoprene Braces Made By Product Stop. (Small), so I bought both, I'd rather waste a little money than running the risk of getting injured again and going through another surgery. In the end, I don't think it's a waste at all, because both served me well, in different phases of recovery. As other reviewers mentioned that this one requires some "break-in", well, the break-in was way too painful for an ankle with nails and metal plates inside and right out of an airboot. The laced-with-strap one was NOT as flexible as their title sounds, but it offered painless sturdy support right after the airboot. The benefit of this one is for my healthy ankle or when the injured ankle completely healed and pain-free, then it has obvious advantages over the other: 1) easy to put on; I put it inside the shoe I am about to wear the next day the night before, so takes almost no additional time in the morning as I am leaving for work. The other one needs to be put on after the socks, so it will take a bit more time every morning. 2) This is good for long-hour activities. The other one, I felt the pain as the front edge rubbed to the bottom of my foot when I was walking for about 2~3 miles. This one had no problem like this at all, as its bottom is inserted under the sole of the athlete shoes. I didn't feel "break-in phase wearing this on my healthy ankle or months after the injure one completely healed. In summary, T2 is unbearably painful for an injured/recovering ankle to break-in; but once healed, T2 offers good support during long-hour exercise. I am glad I bought both during my recovery. 5Wast of money poor quality. The braces came in plastic bags that were attached to the white padding on the bottom of both braces. It looked as if they had been repackaged. The plastic disk that allows you to move the strap up or down depending on the shoe type was cracked and fell apart. Not worth sending them back for a restocking fee and other fees.I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AT ALL. 1She said that it feels comfortable, supportive and lightMy daughter is volleyball player and her ankles would ache after practice. Looked around and active ankle kept coming up! Wasn't able to practice today so a performance review will come next week. She said that it feels comfortable, supportive and light. Instructions were easy to follow. If you can't read the instructions, watch the video. It is just that simple. Don't know why we waited this long. Fast shipping and the price was cheap! 4
