Don t taste like real Beer Nuts!Very disappointed, I bought 99cent beer nuts and they were so good. So I go on Amazon to buy beer nuts. They definitely do not taste the same. They are no sweet and salty. I opened them and not sure I can return them. Very disappointed and sad. Waist of money for me.2Smaller Than a Bottle of Hot Sauce but Flavor GoodI frequently order large barrels of pretzels and snacks online, so when I purchased this, I assumed for $20 it would be a large container. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and found this small container, shorter than a bottle of Sriracha sauce. Now I will take responsibility for not checking the net wt before placing the order but I still somehow feel scammed. However, the flavor of the nuts, grains, pretzels and sticks is good and fresh. So I will enjoy them now but order something larger next time. I'm attaching photo to illustrate what you get for $20.3Same great beer nuts as always.I spent my first 30 years in central Illinois, not far from the Beer Nuts plant in Bloomington. I remember seeing the water tower at the plant--painted to look like a giant can of Beer Nuts--when driving by on the freeway. I've lived in Texas for the last 35 years, and have found Beer Nuts increasingly hard to find, at least in anything other than single serving packs...and even those seem to be getting scarce. Happily, I can get Beer Nuts through Amazon (the same as so much else of what I buy).Other sweet-and-salty peanuts (eg "honey roasted") are WAY too sweet and WAY too salty. Beer Nuts continue to be just right. At only 3 more net carbs per serving than unsalted dry roasted peanuts, and with a third to a half as much sodium than salted peanuts, they even pass muster as a reasonably healthy snack. Total sugars are about the same as plain peanuts (<1gr/serving), even with the corn syrup they add, in addition to salt, to flavor Beer Nuts, so they must not be adding much corn syrup. Glycemic load is very small (unless, of course, you eat a barrel-full of them).I'm not sure what the reviewers who said Beer Nuts aren't as sweet as they used to be are talking about--Beer Nuts recipe is supposedly unchanged after 60 years. Possibly some people have been desensitized to sweetness as a result of the massive increase in the amount of sugar--particularly high-fructose corn syrup--that has been added to processed food over the last 20-30 years. The low-fat fad/scam particularly has contributed to this increase; you can count on most products labeled "fat free, or low fat" having lots of added sugar. Also, as I said above, other "sweet and salty" nuts are REALLY sweet.5You be the judgeI am honest as the day is long. But these beer nuts are nothing like the ones in the small can don't have name but everything falls off of the peanut leaving you with just a peanut otherwise if you like peanuts they are good but not the beer nuts I know1Ahh, back to the good old days!These taste just like I remember them tasting. I ve looked everywhere for them in grocery stores, and finally found them on Amazon. Salty with just a touch of sweetness. Goes great with a good Kentucky bourbon, neat, a chilled gin martini, or an ice-cold beer! It seems some reviews have these nuts mixed up with a candy-coated peanut that looked similar, but had a different taste and texture. These are the real deal! Arrived quickly and very fresh. Loving them!5High Protein healthy snacks for the whole familyBeer nuts and in this container are an excellent high protein Source healthy for every member of the family. Make smaller snack bags from the larger container no problem. Take the larger container to the beach on picnics or camping no problem. Protein and protein oils are listed in a high nutritious category to replace sugary items no longer recommended. I recommend these at the highest level as a clinical nutritionist / dietitian.5Not the taste of what I rememberI was so excited to see I could get beer nuts! I remembered that sweet salty flavor I longed for but what I got was very different unfortunately. These nuts were basically peanuts with their skins still on - more on the salty side and very little on the sweet side! So it appears I will just have fond memories of beer nuts when I was a kid instead of actually finding the actual flavor of the beer nuts. So sad. Would not order again!2Tasteless GreedThese are neither sweet nor salty. Do NOT waste your money. I was looking forward to the original Bar Nuts I remember my dad having out on his bar. These taste bland, like Spanish peanuts. Better off getting them from a grocery store not the new China aka. Amazon.1Beer nutsThe beer nuts were not like what I thought they wood be. At one time Planters had nuts which they called beer nuts, and it had a hard dark red color coating and they were very good, however they don't seem to have then any more, and when I saw the label on this jar and it said original beer nuts I thought it was them. They are all right, but not great.3Too much debris at the bottomThis particular 41 oz. jar unfortunately lends itself to the bottom 15% being just the edible thin skins of peanuts and dust. The top 85% is great though! I would probably stick to buying the smaller canisters at the grocery store as the metal canisters don't have this problem, for some reason.3
