A Good Value For The MoneyI bought this for my brother who had a stroke. He has one of the older low toilets. He was having trouble getting up and down from the toilet so I bought this unit because it is higher than most. Five inches as opposed to 3 1/2 inches. He got it and says it is great.5High Quality | Poor Fit for Our WC BowlThe distance between the arm supports is NOT adjustable as our previous exact same model was. Also the poor fit on our elongated Kohler WC resulted in a tippyness that caused a feeling of insecurity and could be dislodged if not handled just right, I.e. straight down pressure - no side pressure!However, this seat would be fine if it fit the WC bowl better. A security frame has been ordered to provide positive stability during toileting! I'll report on that solution soon!3A Raised toilet seat that will ease some pain.This is what you need for those surgeries that make it difficult to get up and down from a sitting position. This Carex E-Z lock raised toilet seat with the raised handle arms is working perfectly for me. I'll start with the Pros.Pros: It has a sturdy construction, fits my elongated toilet, the handles are in a good position for pushing yourself up, the seat is raised high, the adjustment to tighten the seat in place works well. For the price (47 bucks) very well worth it and it will last a very long time for when you need it again. With this seat, you do not need to take off the original toilet seat and lid that is already on your toilet. Leave your old seat on and just place the E-Z seat onto the bowl and tighten the adjustment. With some raised toilet seat extensions you have to remove the original seat and lid and attach to the riser. But not this one. No extra steps or work.Cons: The seat is hard. But lets face it, it wasn't made to sit there very long. It's made to do your business and get out of there. And guys, you'll just have to tuck it between your legs if your sitting there and have to pee.This is a great item to have on hand when needed for yourself or family member.Furthermore I would also recommend for comfort after surgery is a Hip Kit. Even if you did not have hip surgery, a hip kit can help you with the painful job of getting yourself dressed. Type in Hip Kit in the product search box or area take a look at the items that help you get your socks on, 24" metal shoe horn , help to lift your leg, a 32" grabber to pick up things you drop and are unable to bend and pick up and hook to help pull your pants and a long handled sponge for washing your back or back side.5Too small & hurts!When I read reviews I read the 3 stars figuring they will be realistic. I m skeptical of 5 stars often and with this product you should be. The price is right and it s easy to install. It hurts to sit on, is too narrow and not long enough either. One review said you can t poop and pee. For men definitely true, you can t per on this. 5 is kind of tall too. I m tall and can t get my feet solidly on the floor while seated. Mine is going in plastic recycling. I spent $150 to replace with a good one. I had hip surgery and should have considered a better more comfortable product. I hope some may learn from my mistake.1I bought this for my 98 yr old mother-in-law. ...I bought this for my 98 yr old mother-in-law. She had been forced to use a porta potty because of the height.
