I wish the packaging was an actual dropper with a squeezable container or came with a separate dropper.2I didn't know I had a choice (the baby is the same as the kid but more expensive)Just a FYI the Super Daily for Baby is $15 the Super Daily for kids is $9, they are exactly the same dose. The only difference is the baby has directions that say add to bottle or put on nipple. The kid's says add to food or give drop directly. They are both the 400 IU per drop you can save the $6 and get the kids for you under 2 baby.I was told to get vit. D for my baby when she was a newborn, We went to the big grocery/combo store and they only had 1 option Vit-D-Sol, it was $9 for a month supply, give baby 1ml. It was hard to get a tiny baby to suck down a whole ml, she seemed ok with the flavor it tastes like liquid candy. But the large dose was too much even at 4-6 month some ended up on her cheek or clothes. We tried to split it over a few minuets, but most of the time we forgot and didn't bother giving it to her. That bottle lasted 6 months. Our Dr. said to go to Whole Foods and get the 1 drop liquid, we looked on Amazon and here it is!It's so much easier to give. I see people said they had issues getting their baby to wait the 20 seconds for the drop to come out, I think they are trying to drop it into their kids mouth- the directions clearly say to put it on a spoon, food, nipple, yeah don't try to get a baby to hold her mouth open for 20 seconds!The other concern was that after the drop comes out it looks like another drop is ready to fall, it's true you can see the ext drop but every time I put the bottle up right that drop does back into the bottle, no waste, no mess no over dose. Speaking of OD that is why the Vit-D-sol is such a big dose, it's diluted to prevent over dose per our Dr.This is super easy to give, I drop it on the tip of a spoon with some food, I keep the bottle on the table so we don't forget and there is no struggle to get the baby to suck down a whole ml, I wish I had known about the 1 drop vit D in the beginning. 365 doses for $9 vs. 30 doses for $10!5-really doesn't taste like anything -mixes well into milkNot a huge fan but at the same time I will probably buy this again.Pros: -really doesn't taste like anything -mixes well into milk, smoothies, yogurt, oatmeal.. -I assume it has all the vitamin D she needs (could just be oil for all I know but I like to think I'm doing good)Cons: -takes for-freaking-ever for one little drop to come out. I've had this one jar about 2 months, if that, and do 1-2 drops a day and my jar is almost out. -it leaks when you go to screw cap back on. Ironic since it's so dang hard to get one drop out, yet it then ends up all over the inside of the cap and then runs down the side of the jar (I store it completely upright). Like 1000 spoons when all you need is a knife. You know? You got me. Possibly why my jar hasn't lasted as long as they claim? Come to think of it, maybe there's a problem with my jar?3So much better than the other brandsI love these Carlson drops for my son. He is six weeks old (I bought the kids versus the baby drops because the kids were on sale and they are the exact same dose and ingredients as the baby d drops). These drops are way easier to administer than the other brands where you have to give an entire dropper full. I simply but a drop on my nipple just before nursing or a drop on his pacifier. I used another brand made by a formula company when my older son was a baby and it was terrible. I gave them during his bath because he would spit out half the foul tasting medicine. They were also artificially colored and has all sorts of other ingredients. My baby doesn't even notice the Carlson vitamin D when I give it. There are 365 drops in the bottle and since you only need one drop a day, the bottle will last a whole year! Also, all the drops have in them is coconut oil and vitamin D, not all the other chemicals and fillers.5Great for My SonI bought this Vitamin D supplement based on the recommendation from the my son's doctor (it was one of the options on a short list). After some research I found that this had the best reviews so I decided to purchase it. My son is healthy and doing well so I think the drops are working in terms of him getting the needed vitamins. In terms of the ease of use, I actually prefer this bottle because it measures one drop exactly. I saw a lot of reviews that it takes a long time for the drop to come out; and I agree with that but for us it works out great. We bottle feed our son so we give the drop either with his milk or if he needs gripe water so we really don't care that it takes about 5 seconds for the single drop to come out. We know that we are giving the right amount of Vitamin D so we are happy with this product.5Best Vitamin D for Babies!There should be no other Vitamin D created for kids. This should be the only one available because it is simply THE BEST. One tiny drop is all you need each day. My baby loves it, I just drop it right in her mouth each day. I usually do it with the first diaper change of the day, she's laying down and I just drop it right in!The pediatrician recommended Vitamin D from birth, since my baby is breastfed. The drops in their office were dosed so she needed 1 ml. That is a lot for a baby! It tasted nasty, and was too much. We got it down her maybe 6 times. Four months later, we finally asked a friend what they used for Vitamin D drops and led us to this! I wish I asked their advice sooner. And this bottle will last a year!!! It's even cheaper than the drops the the doctor suggested (yearly cost).5Easy way to get Vitamin D to my sonSome people complain of this not dispensing the liquid very quickly. Although it's not immediate, I find that it's quick enough and it allows time for you to flip it upright before too many drops dispense.5No dropper, and came leakingCame in mail leaking, then went to use it per the instructions and there is no plastic ring that allows just a drop to come out when tipped upside down like the instructions state. It just all poured out. Waste of my money.1Much better than other brands!Great product! We had orginally used a different brand that our ped gave us at her first appointment. It made her gassy and very uncomfortable. After looking at the label, it had lots of junk in it! We did some research and switched to Carlson's brand and its been great. Its one teeny drop each day and it doesnt affect my daughter at all. The drop comes out a bit slow but my daughter is used to it by now and will open her mouth.Also, its a local company for us (we are in chicagoland)5For a healthy start to life without nasty chemicals to worry...Among all the heavily advertised, supplements for children, this is probably the only one your little one really needs. Especially breast fed babies that were born in relatively darker months (when the days are shorter) are in real danger of becoming vitamin D deficient and therefore, supplementing a drop/day makes a big difference. Both my children were born in winter months and were exclusively breast fed (formula contains vitamin D while breast milk is really low for that) therefore we used vitamin D supplements.This brand is among the very few that does not contain any preservatives, corn, soy, sugar, color or other nasty stuff. It only has vitamin D plus coconut oil (vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin and that is probably why they need a type of oil to dissolve it). If you want to make a clean start for your kid I strongly recommend this brand.Although it only gives directions of use for children over 2 years on the bottle , the same directions should apply to those younger than two as well since the same company produces another product for babies which has the same level of vitamin D in it (it has some palm oil and vitamin E in addition to Vitamin D and coconut oil).If you feel like it would be difficult to make a child take the drop, I can recommend a couple of tips:-The worst case scenario, you can put it in the milk (if you are expressing and bottle feeding) But I would not recommend it since it does not blend in well and quite a bit of it may not find its way to the mouth.-Better than that is to put it on a little teaspoon (clean and sterilized if possible) and make the little one lick it. It does not have a distinct taste and they would not object much.-The best way is to get them used to opening their mouth by turning that is a funny ceremony. As young as 3-4 months, they can cooperate .Based on my hands on experience and professional medical knowledge, I strongly recommend using vitamin D drops for health development of your kids. Among all vitamin D supplements, I recommend this brand for that it does not contain nasty ingredients and amazon sells it at a decent price .5
