Latest batch is very fishy.Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this product. I began taking this supplement over a year ago, while trying to conceive and all through my pregnancy. Even with my super sensitive pregnancy nose, I never noticed a fishy smell or taste. However the last two bottles I received have smelled terrible. The fish smell would linger in the air, on my fingers from touching the pill, and on my breath. One bottle I can power through, but when the next one arrived just as stinky I had to stop taking the pills. I m not sure what has changed in their production, but these pills are no longer neutral. This latest batch is very fishy. 2Vegan dha!The price is right, but I wish they didnt contagion carrageenan. 4Great animal friendly DHA supplementI like these dha pills and have used them throughout my pregnancy. I love how they don't use any animal products. They are a good size and easy to swallow. My only gripe is that the smell is hit or miss. I had one package that smelled quite offensive and I couldn't swallow it. The rest of the bottles were great though so I'm only taking 1 star off for that. 4Kids like the taste, good vegan DHAI have used this DHA supplement for years as a vegetarian. My kids actually love the taste of these capsules and chew them. I am happy with them, though I now tend to look for a DHA supplement that contains vegetarian EPA as well. I have also been buying ovega-3, but my kids won't chew those. I generally get mine on iherb (usually free shipping and get $10 off orders of $40 or more using the code MOS036) 4Put them in the fridge to avoid the tasteThese seem to be as good as anything else, but I definitely agree with other reviewers who say to put them in the fridge. At room temp, they get a little weird tasting, but, refrigerated, I don't notice much taste. Can't beat the price for vegan DHA, at 90 capsules of 200mg each, you really only need to take it every other day, so this could potentially last you six months. (Although I do take it every day.) 5Contains CarrageenanUnfortunately, I didn't realize this product contains carrageenan when I purchased it. I use to trust Deva, but not anymore. There is literally no reason to include this ingredient in their products. Does something meant for my stomach really need to look pretty? and risk cancer in the process? 1highly irritating orange oil gave me ICI have been taking this supplement for years. and I have developed interstitial cystitis, never suspecting any connection. it's been a real pain. I have gradually eliminated all known irritants relating to IC. no more coffee, no more citrus, tomato, garlic, spices, hot sauce, ginger, etc. no fun for a food loving ex-chef. recently I bought a powdered omega 3 product which I expected to be green, but it was white. so I decided to taste compare the powder to the deva dha. the powder have little flavor, but the deva dha burned my mouth like hellfire-the orange oil. (note to self re-read the fine print every now and then.) bells went off. I stopped taking the deva. IC went away in a week or so. I have started drinking coffee (one cup daily only) again, no problem. the orange oil is VERY highly concentrated. Someone told me Omega-3's would help, but I have never been a fan of seafood and the thought of burping up fish oil grossed me out.So I bought these. And although my hair and nails did improve the slightest bit (not much) my anxiety and panic attacks which I have suffered from for years stopped after 3 months of taking these once a day.I wasn't even aware they could help with that and it took me a little while to figure out that they were actually the cure for me when I tried ruling out what I started doing differently. I am not saying they'll work for everyones anxiety but for the first time in 10 years I feel like I don't have to worry about it and I feel compelled to let other people know.I found out they contributed to helping anxiety just by googling DHA and anxiety. If you're intrigued, I suggest you read some of the interesting articles.It's crazy how I bought this product for a reason so much smaller than the bigger reason they have changed my life-- literally.I will continue to take these every day. I suggest you try them and give them some time and see if they work for you too. 5Phenomenal ProductWe all kmow that Omega-3s can boost heart health and lower triglycerides. And there are studies showing that omega-3 fatty acids may help with other conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, depression, asthma and more. Omega-3s are thought to play an important role in reducing inflammation throughout the body -- in the blood vessels, the joints, and elsewhere. That's what I notice when I take this product. I've been taking DEVA algae pills for over a year now and when I forget to take it I feel stiffer, achier. This may sound silly, but it's true. I just start to feel old and creaky. Then I get back on my routine of taking my DEVA algae pills and within a day my joints feel lubricated again. Kind of like how a car engine needs oil to lubricate the parts, this is my engine oil. :)If you have food sensitivities, rest easy. This product is free from GMO's, yeast, wheat, glujten, hexane, dairy, egg, salt, sugar or preservatives.If you are vegan for ethical reasons, you will be happy to know this product contains no animal products or derivatives. It is certified vegan by the Vegan Society.What I like about these pills is they are derived from microalgae grown under sanitary menufacturing conditions. It is free of ocean-borne contaminants like mercury and dioxin. I tell my friends who take fish oil pills, "Where do you think the fish get their Omega-3's? From the algae they eat!" Skip the fish and the mercury contamination that comes with it, and go straight to the algae! 5Don t give this brand to your dogs.Our dog was prescribed this to keep his cancer from coming back, but he was allergic to this. He got huge hives all over his body and we had to bring him to the dog Emergency Room where they had to treat him. I ve been taking the rest of them and I m fine with them. I wish I knew which ingredient in it that she was allergic to since she has no problems with other brands???? Maybe I shouldn t take them!? 3
