Good socks for comfort, for anyoneFeel great on, don't bind. They do not wear for a long time, but I imagine all diabetic socks being so thin, probably do not have a wear life such as other socks may have. These do help with comfort when you have socks on all day. No swelling in the ankle really helps me. I have referred a lot of people to these socks and they also love them.I buy the guys in my family these, because while we don't all have diabetes, a lot of us don't have thin calves. 5Nice socks and very soft.These socks are very nice and they are soft. Maybe because they are brand new and not stretched out...they did leave slight impressions in my ankle at the end of the day. Some days my feet/ankles get really swollen as I sit at a desk all day. Regular socks will leave deep grooves in my ankles from the cuff. These do not do that. Like I said though they did leave a slight impression but I think that is because they are new and after a few washes the top will be stretched out a bit more. I do love these and the price is great! I am a type 2 diabetic so I am being very careful about my socks and shoes to try to avoid any foot problems. 5Lost a long time customerThis is the third or fourth time that I have bought these socks over the years. The quality has definitely slipped. They used to be soft and lush.They used to leave "lint" on the floor when I took them off at night because they were so full and soft. I remember them as so comfortable. My last batch seems small in size and sparse in material. They are no longer soft and lush.They seem to be half the sock they used to be. I will no longer buy them. 1Be Advised!Thought I'd purchased the "miracle" socks for my husband. He already had one pair that he had received free from a diabetic supply company and he loves them! Well, these are not the same, OR, I may have purchased the wrong size. You decide.My husband wears a 10 shoe so I bought the 9 - 11 size. If you are considering a purchase definitely buy the larger size range, if it is available. This may, or may not help with the following problem. These socks shrink very badly when washed (I use cold water and low heat in the dryer). They come out looking like they belong to a 3rd grader! Mega stretching is absolutely required. Then, to top it all, the toe section constricts during wearing making the end of the day very uncomfortable. Good luck! 2Dangerous for DiabeticsWhen they're new, these socks are too tight. They leave ribbed impressions on my lower legs. That sort of socks cut off circulation and may lead to amputation -- the big dread among diabetics, and why we buy sox that are called Diabetic Sox, even if they aren't. After six months and twenty or more washings, they get softer, don't leave the impressions, might actually be diabetic safe, even if they're beginning to fray. I figure another six months, and I'll need more.I can always tell the difference between my VA sox and my Amazon cheapies. The latter have ribs at the top. The good ones don't need ribs.So the lesson is either don't buy them new; when you do, you have to wash them till they're not tight; or don't depend on cheap sox to save your feet. The ones (brand-named Diabetic Sox, if I remember right, and I often do not) I bought at the VA Hospital's Patriot Store, on the few ocassions when they had my smaller size in stock, are substantially better; never left an impression; are thicker; actually help keep me warm in winter; and have sturdier construction, but they were two or three times more expensive.Physician's Choice is a great name to deceive us; the price can't be beat; and many sizes are available. Mine fit almost perfectly, except they're beginning to loosen and fray.Executive types who have to wear socks that hang tight around their shins would probably find these great. Us diabetics, however, might not need them after we wear new ones for too long.I'm really sorry I bought three dozen of these, but I've had them long enough now, and I've washed them enough that now they're almost safe. 2I am not diabetic, but "squeezy" socks hurt meI don't know if it's a form of neuropathy or something else, but I do not have edema or diabetes. I buy these socks for myself and my 12 yo son because they don't squeeze us too hard. I especially love they are latex free (I am allergic) and made in the USA.I am tempted to stockpile them in case the manufacturer stops making them. They are that comfy!While they are slightly on the thin side, I like that. If I wanted thick wool socks, I would buy them. 5These "diabetic stockings" have a constrictive elastic string problemThese stockings have a circumferential elastic string about a 1/2" from the top which will indent your ankles if you have a problem with ankle swelling. This is a negative for a stocking that claims to be a "diabetic stocking". Otherwise they are OK. They will keep your feet warm and are inexpensive but if you have chronic venous insufficiency, cardiac failure or other diseases that can cause leg edema, you might not be satisfied with this product. 2Gentle and made in the USAIt is nice not having discomfort from socks being too tight. I bought the blue to wear with jeans. Now I don't have to worry that something will make my legs swell and I will end up with sore legs from socks that have become too tight. If I would change 1 thing, I would make them softer. I love that they are made in the USA. 4These Work WellI like these socks for my 95 year old mom, whose feet and ankles swell. They're not beautiful, but they don't show when her pants are pulled over her ankles. Having a dozen pairs of these socks in her drawer avoids the sock-matching problem, and I can always buy more when the assisted living community's laundry loses them. 4I bought the socks for my MomI read the reviews prior to my purchase and that is what led me to buy them for my mother, who was just recently diagnosed with diabetes and have been complaining of severe foot pain. She says that the socks make her feet feel better just a bit. However, the only reason I am giving them a 4 star review is because I did not like how thin they were. They looked like a cheap thin , a less quality thin,, which does not show up in the picture, Other than that, if my Momma says they make her feel a little better than this product deserves 4 stars! I also purchased some foot balm for her pain and that is another reason why I am not jumping up and down over giving this product a fiver.. I will however, give the combination of the two products a five. 4
