The Impax Grid technology which is constructed of pre-cut layered Plastazote foam. The bottom two layers of foam can be easily removed around the affected areas, redistributing load away from healing ulcers. The key benefit in the design is that the top layer of foam stays in contact with the plantar surface of the foot, not allowing "hot spots". Impax Grid Technology redistributes load away from healing ulcers. Simple to remove or replace Impax foam blocks. Impax Grid allows for a continuous plantar surface. Plastazote foam has low shear. Plastazote foam is simple to clean and maintain. Indications Treatment of ulcerative or pre-ulcerative conditions of the foot. Moderate to severe plantar fasciitis. Postoperative Charcot foot. Foot conditions that may require and would benefit from even distribution of body weight on the plantar surface of the foot. Replacement of total contact casting. Goals Reduce chance of amputation. Patient compliance. Reduce chance of infection. Decrease pain symptoms. Reduce pressure on plantar ulceration. Reduce foot/ankle swelling and inflammation.
