Way worth the money!The Nitro Walker is the Maserati of walkers!! The seat is gel-like foam and the thing is extremely sturdy! My friend has a walker graveyard of the traditional design. He requested this for Christmas and it s a game changer for his life! Thank you Amazon, for getting this to him overnight for free since his first order got lost in transit! This is why I m an Amazon Queen, because Amazon customer service is double helpful when there are issues. Plus I can shop from home instead of wasting my time visiting shops for products. Very impressive!5This ain't your granny's walker!This is the first review I've ever written on Amazon, and I"m doing it because yhis product has changed my life. Maybe you were/are like me, and just HATING the idea of using a friggin "walker"...I know I was, still am. (I've had MS for 35 years and it is taking its toll, progressing to the point of my having had to use a cane now for 5 years or so, and even then, I've grown more unstable. But I'm NOT old -- a very young looking 62) No way di I want to be looked upon like a hunched over decrepit soul in a rest home creeping along with tennis balls pinned to the bottom of a walker.This product is not like that at all. It is a "rollator" which is best described as a totally "pimped out" walking aid. I'm 6-4 and ordered the TALL version. It fits me well, and allows me to do something I've haven't done in a decade or more, and that is to simply take a walk -- for fun! Or go to the mall. Or walk the streets of Cambridge England which I've just done over the Christmas holidays.So if you are on the fence and self-conscious about having "a walker" please heed my plea -- GET OVER YOURSELF! Just try it...if you don't like it, I'm sure you can find a buyer on Craig's List, or you might want to even donate it to the MS Society or to some hospital ot physical therapy clinic. (But you won't...you will be just feeling too liberated to even think about parting company with it.)5Expensive lesson.I purchased this walker and within 50 days a steel brake cable snapped. Neither the seller nor Amazon stood behind the product but said it was only guaranteed for 30 days. A very expensive lesson for a partially disabled person.1It is falling apartThis is a wonderful walker but it is falling apart. We bought it in August of 2017 but is is falling apart. I am very unhappy about this product and think it should be replaced.1GREAT Mobility Device for Temporary or Permanent Movement Needs--This is the TALL VersionThis is an EXCELLENT option for people who need some stability assistance in order to enhance their mobility. My husband has developed a neurological condition that's necessitated occasional use of a device like this and when he needs to use it, it is ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS and has helped us prevent several falls. He uses it in the house when needed and it's helped him "motor" out in public to a degree he's been unable to do for a couple of years and for that, I'm very grateful.It's very easy to steer, not wobbly at all, feels very solid, and gives him the extra confidence he needs when necessary. We haven't taken it on any long trips yet, but for visits to the doctor's office and physical therapy, it more than paid for itself the first time we used it. He was able to navigate through a parking lot, across an outdoor skyway, into an elevator and through several wings of an office building with ease. In the past, this would have been an "impossible journey," but this rollator has made it safe and easy for him and stress-free for me.The tall version works well for him (6'3") and he's even lowered the "handlebars" a click or two below their maximum setting. He says the brakes are responsive but not too tight, with just the right amount of "grab." It has a sturdy canvas seat in case a rest break's needed & the storage pouch is large and accommodates kindles, phones, and even (at home) a curious cat. The color's a vibrant, attractive red, which he loves.The wheels do not interfere with his gait in any way and I, as the "car loader in chief" appreciate the fact that this is easy to fold, lock, and lift into our car for transport. It basically "folds" in half for transport (just pull up on a handle built into the canvas seat & it will easily collapse for storage--there's a little red plastic "lock" that will keep it in the folded position). This "folding feature" also lets you safely navigate through more narrow doorways, when needed (pulling up on the handle slightly will allow the frame to "shrink" and inch or two or three, till you get through the doorway. Then just push back down on the frame to fully lock it back into its usual width).It's a really nice looking rollator: sturdy, well-finished and well worth the price we paid, in my opinion. The wheels roll well on pavement, carpet, and tile. We haven't taken it off-roading, yet : ) Most Enthusiastically Recommended!P.S. One quick tip: after one of our trips to the doctor's office, I noticed a sound that sounded like a dry bearing on one of the wheels. When I checked for the source of the sound, I discovered that a small portion of the silver brake cable had slightly folded in, toward the tire, when I'd loaded it into the car. That was the source of the noise; just a very gentle bend of the cable away from the affected wheel fixed the issue and eliminated the sound immediately. Just thought I'd mention it, in case others hear a noise and don't realize how easy it is to fix. Unless you used to fix your own bike as a kid like I did, you might not know what to do : )----Have a question about this Nitro? Just leave a Comment & I'll be happy to help you, if I can.5No more leaning on shopping carts!With back problems, I would lean on a shopping cart for support while in stores so I wanted a tall walker for everyday use. I'm only 5'4", but have the handles at highest position, and it's perfect if you want to lean on your forearms (like you would on a cart). Large wheels and seat allow you to get out and about when and where you want to go. Folds easily but it is tall, so I usually put it across the back seat of my car for transport. I highly recommend!5Caretakers will love this!I bought this for my husband since he needed a taller walker. This was a lot more expensive than the one he had before but there are few options for taller people plus I loved that there aren't any cables to snag on things when it's put in the car so I bought it. Hubby says it's the best walker he's ever used - but I love it even more! It folds up with barely any effort - just pull up on the handle that's on the seat. AND THEN IT LOCKS!!!!! All by itself. When folded it still rests easily on its 4 wheels and is stable. Picking it up and putting it in the car is also extremely easy - it's lightweight (at least compared to the previous one) and slides right in the trunk or back seat without catching on anything. I don't even have to empty the zipper bag. This is easily the best purchase I've made for my mobility impaired hubby and as a caretaker I'm super appreciative of whomever designed and built this. Thanx!5Big disappointmentThis rolator was advertised for tall people (6'4"). No way can someone that tall use,it. My husband has lost 4 inches is 6'2" now and it was way too short. The third party distributor was very difficult to work with when it came to returning the item . This device is both stylish and sturdy. While no one looks forward to using support for walking, my wife took to the Drive Nitro very quickly. She is comfortable using it and has received several unexpected compliments on it. The device does not fold-up small, but it does "pull together" and become narrow. This has proven to be a very useful feature. When narrow, it stands and rolls and does not take up much space. It is easy to place beside a table or chair while dining, or place beside a bed or in a closet while sleeping. We just returned from a 10-day cruise which would not have been possible for my wife without this device.5Fantastic!! Worth the money!!I picked this out for my mom, 86 years old, who is starting to have a lot of trouble with back pain, weak legs and difficulty getting out of standard height chairs. She is a tall lady (5 8 with long legs), and this tall model is perfect for her. The first walker she had was a basic Drive rollator (much less expensive) but much lower to the ground and narrower, and she only used it once because she couldn t easily get out of it without two people assisting her.She especially likes this Nitro tall model because the higher than normal seat makes it is easy for her to get out of. It steers very easily, and turns on a dime. She can drive it across grass and rocky paths with no difficulties, thanks to the large front tires. The color and hidden brake cables make it much more fashionable and youthful looking than traditional walkers too. It has allowed her to go places that she normally would ve turned down going such as an apple picking place due to there being nowhere to sit down (or seats that are too low for her to get out of) . I would say that it has helped her regain mobility and independence. Worth every penny! We call it her Ferrari due to the beautiful cherry red color!!As the daughter of the user, I love how easy it is to fold and lift into the car. Not mentioned in the features listed on Amazon is a metal clip that locks the unit together for very easy storage. We went to a restaurant the other day, and it easily fit into a small area near our table in the folded position. It unfolds with great ease as well.I would highly recommend this model to persons who need it or to adult children who are worried about their parents falling/mobility.5
