worth itI bought this because of the positive reviews and there were so right.My husband came home from Afghanistan and I welcomed him home with an Omaha steak liberally coated with Durkee steak dust. He was a VERY happy man.It took us a bit to figure out the shaker. The powder is so fine that it clogs the little holes. Just give the container a little squeeze and the powder with blow across the meat.It's mild enough that you can use a lot and not be overpowered. I still do sometimes add some pepper.My kitchen will never be without it again!5What exactly is in the dust that makes it taste so good???I really do LOVE this product for it's flavor. It is the perfect steak seasoning. I don't love some of the ingredients (MSG and other questionable things) but if that doesn't bother you then go for it. Price was a bit steep, but it seems hard to get. The last time I bought this was 8 or 9 years ago from a wholesale club. Can't find it locally anymore.4WOW!I bought this steak dust without any expectations. I just wanted something different to try on steaks. Usually I sear my steaks on the stove top and then finish in the oven. The dusting didn't do much for that method of cooking, but when it became grilling weather, I put some of this on a strip steak an wow! It was freaking delicious. This past weekend I tried it on some ribeyes that the grocery store had on sale, and I think it was one of the best steaks I ever had. My in-laws couldn't believe that all I did was season them. They thought for sure they were marinated. The steaks just seemed better with the sauce on them to me. Well, I'm proud to say with steak dust, I've been off the sauce now for about a month. I can taste the meat with an excellent flavor. I used to purchase this seasoning at Food Lion, suddenly it vanished, after searching around I found it at Wal-Mart, then suddenly they no longer had it available. I figured the only reason this seasoning is disappearing off grocery shelves is because, its too good for the average citizen to purchase, this stuff is Chef material!! It's invisible on your steaks or ground beef. There are no chunky spices that are identifiable, its literally Dust! Since we haven't been able to find Tone's to buy we decided to buy Durkee's as what we read on reviews is it suppose to as good as Tone's.When we received the Durkee, we couldn't wait to try it out. The very night we had our steaks and were we ever disappointed. Those reviews we read, boy were they lies! This steak dust is just ok. It's nothing like Tone's. If you love Tone's as much as my family, don't waste you money. The flavor is almost bland, not worth what we paid.3Hard to find....but worth the search!These are not in the stores. I found it once in Sam's Club years ago, and could not find it since. Amazon had it!Simple product with great results:Pat dry your 1/2 inch steak (I like a sirloin, but it works well on whatever steak you like)Heat you cast-iron pan to Med/Hi(the best pan there is for steaks) and put a 1/2 teaspoon of cooking oilCook for eight minutes on one side...DO NOT BREAK THE SEARFlip, lower flame to medium. Cook for eight more minutes. Remove from fire. Let meat breathe for about 5 minutes.In Hawaii, we say, "Broke Da Mouth!"5You won't be disappointedThis stuff is great. I have used it for years and have never been disappointed. I constantly get compliments about the flavor of my steaks. It enhances the flavor of the meat instead of just overpowering it with salt and garlic. Definitely try it!5
