#1 Organic, small farm and coop produced coffee, a dark roast with the intensity of the French Revolution!As more and more coffee companies cave to the temptation to adulterate with soy beans sprayed with chemical flavors and questionable trade practices, Equal Exchange may be the last coffee company standing to offer organic whole beans sourced from small producer coops, and roasted at a worker owned facility stateside. The company maintains its commitment to fair trade and supports many worthy causes. I recently had cause to engage in a lengthy discussion with reps at Equal Exchange and consider their inteigrity (and really great tasting coffee!) unsurpassed.There were some glitches with package mislabeling here at Amazon, but it is being resolved by Amazon's superior customer service staff.5Pretty Good Coffee There is nothing bad about this coffee and it is pretty darn good, especially because it is organic. I just happen to be able to get my favorite organic coffee(Charleston) from my local Costco that I like better. These beans are dark and slightly oily but they tastes good if you like the darker coffees. My preference is the milder roast beans that are less oily. This Equal Exchange Organic French Roast is very similar to Mayorga which is also a good organic choice for dark roast. I would definitely suggest you try this for yourself and it is a very good deal thru Amazon to get this 2lb size of organic coffee beans. It may be one that becomes your favorite or your second choice for a good back-up or occasional switch. 4They have trouble shipping all 3 packs...We absolutely love this coffee. The flavor is robust and the smell is wonderful. My only issue is the fact that I ordered there 3 packs of coffee and only recieve 1 of the 3 packs. Then I file a replacement/refund option and they shipped another 3 pack free of charge. This would be great except the fact when I recieve the replacement I still get only 1 of the 3 I was supposed to recieve. I am not sure how it is so hard to count to 3. This coffee is not very cheap and I keep only recieving part of my order. To make matters worse I went through this a while back where they couldn't count to 3. I am tired of having to constantly complain because my order keeps getting messed up. I just want the 3 pack I order. Not one... not two... I want all 3 packs that are supposed to come with this. I do recommend the coffee it's really good but beware that you will spend around $22 plus dollars and only recieve part of your order.1I love this coffee but the bag that I received was ...I love this coffee but the bag that I received was mislabeled. The barcode sticker was indeed for the EE Love Buzz, but the bag itself was a different Equal Exchange blend (e.g. the right brand, but not Love Buzz). I kept it because coffee is coffee and in terms of flavor profile wasn't so far off (although according to the packaging it was clearly not what I ordered), and it seemed like a warehouse error - then it happened a second time! Anyway, it's still a great deal for a good more ethical coffee choice...When I moved away from a grocery store that carried Equal Exchange three or four years ago, I remember checking, and you had to order it directly from Equal Exchange, and wait for standard shipping. I guess thanks to the Whole Foods merger, now you can get this right on Amazon. I was excited to discover this, but the mislabeling is a bummer! Amazon, please fix!3Best organic coffee out there. Period.I am no coffee expert, but do enjoy 1-3 cups of coffee a day. I recently read of all pesticides used in coffee so decided to go organic, I've tried many from different places but this is by far the best cup I've had, my girlfriend thinks so too. It's very mild and can definitely feel the caffeine rush w/o going over the board like the energizer bunny. I ground the beans every morning while she takes the shower and throw them in our bobble presse (http://www.amazon.com/Presse-bobble-The-Brewer-Black/dp/B00T088TTM) with wonderful results. Can't think of a better way of starting our morning. #InLoveThis coffee being Equal Exchange AND Organic is not only a plus, but a must. Double thumbs up.5A Good Mild Flavor With Strong Nutty NotesThis coffee has done an exquisite job of marketing. Fair trade, organic, ethical in every sense of the word. And whole bean at that so you re bound to expect the best flavor- right? This particular flavor Mind, Body, and Soul is one that my fiance and I enjoy but don t necessarily swoon over. It s a medium blend that isn t necessarily extremely robust. Both of us prefer a darker stout flavor, but love trying new coffees (especially organic fair trade options), so picked this one up on a whim during an Amazon Pantry order.The coffee comes well-packaged in a traditional foil-lined bag that seals in freshness. It s easy to peel open and can nicely be folded shut and secured with clamps that are a part of the package. Great for convenience and storage. The whole beans are nicely roasted and ready to be ground. This particular 12 ounce bag lasted the two of us about 9 days- but we are avid (almost alarmingly so) coffee drinkers. For a typical household I d assume this bag would easily last 2 to 3 weeks. We tried this coffee with a drip coffee maker, French press, and electric coffee maker. It wasn t quite dark enough to work with the drip coffee maker and the flavor was very mild and watery when paired with that method. The French press got the best flavor from this coffee and really allowed you to taste the mild nutty flavor. It almost has an almondy undertone. It s not a sweet coffee and it certainly lacks a punch that I appreciate. But it wasn t bad and I d highly recommend it for people who want something gentle but flavorful to wake up with.I think I would try other coffees from this brand and would probably really like their darker flavors. For people who really want a lot of kick to their coffee I wouldn t suggest this particular one though. Great things about this particular brand include the fact they are fair trade and organic. They source their coffee beans from small locally owned farmers who practice natural farming. Although my coffee connoisseur attitude does inspire me to occasionally indulge in a new Starbucks option, I always feel much better when I m conscious about what I buy and opt for brands that seem more aware of their farmers practices and wellbeing. Fair Trade is a great option for the ethically aware coffee shoppers out there.I really have no major complaints about this coffee, just the particular flavor didn t suit my fancy. Because it was advertised as having a chocolate undertone I figured it may be a more robust flavor for a medium blend- but that wasn t really the case. The nutty malt flavor is much more noticeable. But, if that suits your fancy, this option is certainly the right one for you.4Tasty! First time trying this brand. We've been rotating through various organic whole beans, looking for our "go to". We purchased this one and the "Mind, Body, Soul" whole bean blend and we love them both! The breakfast blend is more robust and the mind, body soul is a bit sweeter. We also use filtered water which we have found allows for better coffee flavor and less tap water (aka, chemical) flavor. We will definitely be buying both again. It's only a 12 oz bag so if you do daily coffee for multiple coffee drinkers, you'll burn through it pretty fast. Need bigger bags! 5SuperbI have tried a LOT of different coffees on Amazon this year. I think it is somewhat luck of the draw because every coffee I have purchased has had glowing reviews, which is the reason I bought them in the first place. Many of the coffees I have tried turned out to be complete busts for me - I found them undrinkable and someone else thought it was the best they had ever had. So I've learned to take all that into account and be prepared to deal with the disappointment if it turns out bad. I am pleased to report that THIS coffee lived up to the reviews and I will be buying it regularly going forward. It is deep and rich without being bitter, wonderful aroma both in the bag and brewed, and is organic fair trade which is a must for me. I think it is superb and will order it as long as it is available. This coffee seems to turn over frequently in Amazon's stock, which is a good thing since it is normally quite fresh when it arrives. I have had other brands that were so stale they were completely tasteless. I think you can buy this with confidence you are getting a very flavorful and fresh organic coffee at a good price with Amazon.5Very blandHey I love organic coffee and drink 2-3 cups each morning. I was excited to try this particular whole beans blend and I grind all my beans and make it fresh each day but I was very disappointed with these beans. I knew it was coffee but there was no taste of anything actually to allow me to enjoy it as fresh cup of coffee. Very bland and no chocolate after note as mentioned on this sight which was the reason for ordering these for the chocolate after note. I love coffees that gives me a slight chocolaty note after each sip but nothing with these beans. It was almost like a decaf or spunk free coffee. I won't order these again and I always do my best to order the equal exchange goods.1Huge part of my MS recovery!I suffer from MS, it got a lot worse this year and my doc gave me six months to get better on my own before she puts me on meds. So this coffee is a big part of my natural recovery. Along with yoga, meditation, tons of antioxidants and probiotics, I make coffee combutcha and use (I know, yuk) coffee enemas, daily. Extreme detox! This brand was recommended on some website I found, I it works amazing! I feel like a million bucks after the enemas! Watch me recover completely and start running marathons before the big pharma catches me in it's ugly claw!5Absolutely delicious!I had purchased some Organic medium roast coffee at Costco, as it was on a good sale, BUT, I have realized that regardless of the amount of coffee I use (grinding it just prior to french pressing it each morning), the taste of medium roast DOES NOT satisfy my taste pursuit. So, in desperation one night, I went in search of some whole bean dark roast on Amazon, that I could have delivered the next day. My considerations were both positive reviews (and applicable, discerning negative reviews . . . not just kvetching reviews), & price. This fit the bill w/my initial purchase. When I purchased it in May 2019, I paid $12.73 for a 2lb bag. It was DELICIOUS!!! However, when I considered repurchasing it, the price was then OVER $20 for the same bag. So, I purchased some dark roast at Costco instead. I would gladly purchase this coffee again when/if the price is within my budget. For those who can afford this company's asking price, I wholly recommend it. The flavor is bold.5We have tried EVERY organic, fair-trade coffee out there...This one is the BEST! Hands down. better than any other coffee I have ever had. It's smooth and bold without being weirdly sour or bitter. It's always fresh tasting and it's never weak. We buy six bags every month! Really appreciate that it's subscribe and save.5
