Does not seem to be as fresh as Star West ...Does not seem to be as fresh as Star West brand. It s brown in color rather then the deep deep green it should be. It does not have the deep flavor of nettle. It s bland. Won t be buying again, will spend the extra $4 to go with Star West. 2BugsThe package itself came in a timely manner, was packaged properly, and the leaves look like they're in great condition and are stinging nettle leaves. That's great!Only thing is, while I was scooping the leaves into clean and clear jars for storage, I noticed some movement. I looked closer and found a few little brown insects crawling around on the leaves. This was very disappointing because everything else seemed okay except this part of the batch.I also noticed there isn't a return policy which is a shame because I don't like leaving negative reviews. I would not recommend anyone buying this unless they're okay with picking through 1lb of leaves and inspecting the whole thing before using it.I'm sure this is rare and since the product is natural, there is a possibility of insects. I just didn't expect something that was sifted to have this problem.2/5 would have been a 5/5 if there were no bugs in the product. 2Want A Natural Gout Remedy Anybody?Gout relief anyone? Today being the First of January, 2017 and after the wine enjoyed the night before; this morning was not joyful. I woke up to an extremely swollen foot.I've been enjoying painful flareups of my right foot since July of last year when I tried a tuna and vege diet and have had to learn to navigate natural remedies to quiet the raging beast that resides in my toe and its neighboring joints when I eat fish, peas, hamburger patties and alcohol in any form.The best remedy is this Stinging Nettle Leaf made into tea with a 20-ounce glass of boiling water and two handfuls of leaf left to steep about an hour and downed once or twice a day until foot swelling abates in a day or so. No fun avoiding the triggers when most of the triggers also are on my weight loss list, but no one loves a rampaging toe that loves to scream pain because I was dumb enough to eat (or drink) the said trigger food.Nettle is a natural diuretic and a great kidney flush with potassium and other great minerals left behind to make you feel better.One other detail, too. I bought this bag in July of 2014 and have it stored in a dark place in a gallon freezer bag. I still have about a third of a bag of product left and it is still green and effective. This is my go-to diuretic- natural and sugar free. 5Nettle Tea is tasty & easy to prepare!I love tea and I love organic foods. I take supplements but not calcium. I try to eat enough foods throughout the day that contains calcium and minerals. Someone mentioned to me that Nettle Tea contains calcium so I immediately researched the benefits of this particular tea. I was so impressed I decided to try this product. Amazon had the best choices and prices for nettle tea compared to my local organic markets. I was surprised when I opened up the box to find this very large package of nettle tea. I knew it was one pound but I guess I didn't realize how much of small pieces of leaf pieces could actually be in a one pound package. The entire package is full of tiny little pieces of leaf. Preparing the tea doesn't take more than five minutes. The night before I weigh a half of ounce of the tea and put it inside a quart size jar. Boil four cups of water & mix it together. Let it sit on the counter overnight. The next morning I strain the liquid, throw out the wet greens and put the liquid back into the jar. It tastes better cold. My daughter likes to add a little of apple juice to her tea; I like it straight form the jar. I find the taste pleasing but it's nothing like I have had before so I really can't describe it. I plan on purchasing this tea as long as Amazon sells it. I highly recommend this purchase. 5THIS TEA HEALED MEI waited a full two months to give the tea a full review. When I first started drinking the tea it had a very herbal taste. I suffered from anal fissures for years, I have taken every drug and still no healing. My hair shed like crazy, my skin had breakouts, but after drinking this tea LET ME TELL YOU my life is changed. I no longer suffer from any of these issues.I have stopped taking coffee because I enjoy this tea that much. It is truly a dierectic. It makes you urinate a lot. My mom also loves this tea. My hair has reduced in shedding a lot. I infuse this tea and place it inside my spray bottle with a few drops of peppermint and spray it on my scalp. This tea is the truth!! I use 8 table spoons to make a large batch to last a few days. 5Unfortunately, this is NOT a quality product. I ...Unfortunately, this is NOT a quality product. I have grown and worked with nettles before and typically they are vibrant green, even when dried. They should also blend vibrantly green or make a dark green tea. Nearly 1/2 a cup of this product in hot water hardly tinted the water. I am not sure how old these are, or even if they are the product they are labeled to be, however I can tell you they are the least potent nettle product I have ever worked with and I am sorry I bought as much as I did. At least they will make viable substrate for compost :/ 2Good product but a serious word of !!!CAUTION!!!My roommate and I have noticed an instant improvement in our sinus issues from drinking stinging nettle infusions. We let it steep over night. I'm not going into detail because several other commenters have and that's not why I'm writing this review. I'm writing because:!!!A WORD OF CAUTION!!!:I keep seeing people recommending mason jars and boiling water. The second time I made this I was using these two things and made a very stupid mistake: even though I waited a few minutes for the water to cool down I didn't wait nearly long enough and when I put the lid on the jar it exploded about three seconds later- spraying glass, hot water, and tea everywhere. I only suffered minor burns on my hands but when I told this story to a coworker she told me about a neighbor that lost an eye in this same way. So be careful!!! I'm now using slightly cooler water and I'm covering the jar with cheesecloth rather than the standard lid. 5Smooth & soothingThis tea is so malty sweet smooth full bodied vibrant green earthy & soothing. I got it and immediately brewed my biggest pot full & drank off it for 2 days. This is a LOT of tea my friends. Just to use it up I'll need to make it a daily ritual which is just fine since it's so good for me. I just scoop it in, boil it 20 min, let it sit to cool & scoop it into my glass as I want it. No refrigeration overnight. I end up drinking some of the leaves. 5Good for allergies, I thiink.Frontier products, in my experience, are always top quality. After taking a daily dose of nettle tea for several months I believe that my histamine reactions have calmed down quite a bit. Few "natural cures" are prefect but this one, I think, has noticeably helped with contact dermatitis, among other things. 5Quality Herbs at a Wonderful Value - I take as a lung tonic, and feel the benefits.I can trust Frontier to deliver quality herbs, and this is no exceptionOne 1 Lb Nettles Leaf, Cut & Sifted, Organic. This is a wonderful value! It costs so much less to buy a pound of this, instead of the tea bags I used to buy. Nettles is reported to be good for many ailments. It was one of the ingredients in the tea blends I used to get as a lung tonic, to treat my asthma, so I don't just rely on inhalers. (I prefer to do all I can to help my body to heal, rather than just mask symptoms with medications.) After taking it as a tonic for months, my asthma is better and also, I feel like it has helped my body in so many other ways, as I am healthier overall.I make a tea with a half cup of nettles and a half cup of pau d'arco, which I put in a pot with a quart and a half of filtered water and boil with the lid on over a low heat for half an hour, and let it steep. This makes a concentrated tea that will be black as coffee. When it has cooled, I strain it into jars and put it in the fridge. I take a half cup a day, warmed in the microwave and mixed with coconut milk and raw honey. Sometimes I mix in a teaspoon of cocoa for fun.)
