Cold brew awesomeness from a bag? Yes, please!I m hooked on cold brew so when I was going on a week-long cruise, I had to find a way to bring it with me. Enter this kit. I made it in my cabin and dispensed the concentrate all week along, and it was delicious diluted with a little water and ice and cream added. I ve experimeted with many different beans with my home setup and Grady s ranks up there with the best I ve had.5Not as pricey as you think, definitely worth the money!I first found a can of Grady's at HomeGoods and gave it a try. I've never been to NoLA, so I didn't know what it should taste like, but I just knew it was GOOD cold brew! I like call kinds of coffee and this had a distinct flavor - smooth, dark and delicious! I immediately searched on Amazon and found this unique brew bag. I was skeptical and thought I might have coffee all of the fridge but I've barely had a drip! I'm really impressed by the tap system! I stupidly tried to fill up the bag with additional water so that it was no longer "concentrate" but ready-to-drink cold brew and ended up spilling coffee all over the kitchen! Lesson learned! Don't fill past the indicated line! I'm reordering today.So, as many people have indicated, it does seem a little pricey, $30 for 12 bags. But, This kit lasted me about a month and I drink a tumbler with a straw every morning. Not bad, especially when you consider what I could have spent at Dunkin' or Starbucks. It's really about $1 a day and you can't beat that. Plus, you control the strength, the amount of ice, cream and sugar.For a super special treat, shake up about a half up of diluted cold brew with a tablespoon or two of sweetened condensed milk and some ice. Shake until your arm is going to fall off. It's called a shakerato. It's delicious, but definitely a treat!5I get this product every monthI have a current subscribe and save for this product. I absoutley love it!! It's meant to be a concerntrate that you do half coffee and half water, or you can put some cream/milk in it. I personally drink my coffee black, and I like it on the strong side. So instead of doing half and half I do about 3/4 coffee and a quarter water. I bought peppermint flavoring to add and it's so perfect. No sugar or anything, which is how I usually drink my coffee. With a little bit of sugar. The can last me about 2 weeks in the summer because I drink more cold coffee. But on colder days (and I live in central ny) so most of the year, I drink hot coffee in the morning so this cannister will last a month. You get 4 bags in each can. What I like to do is I have a mason glass jar, I put it in there over night and in the morning perfection. It's okay too if you don't drink it for a couple days. But I think that's because I use the mason jar with the nice and sealed lid. I don't think you would get the shelf life if it was in a regular cup.5Tastes like real, strong coffee. Very niceHere's how I made it. I wrapped two disposable coffee filters around their coffee bag. I put that into a quart size plastic bag. I put the quart size plastic bag into a gallon sized plastic zipper bag ( in case it leaked. I put that into a plastic container (to hold it upright) poured 3/4 full of the quart size bag of filtered well water in, let it sit overnight outside (we had 30 temp) in the morning I poured 1/3 into an 11 ounce empty mermaid logo co. glass bottle 1/3 milk & 1/4 cup of liquid coffee creamer. It tastes awesome! Strong but not bitter & it kept me caffeinated twice as long as any of the drive thru coffee shops cold brew that I usually buy. I like that it came out dark black color, like real coffee used to look when perculated. I got 6, 11ounce Coffees ( including the creamer & milk I put in) so for me that means 24, 11 ounce coffees from their whole container the way I made It & It didn't taste watered down, it tastes nice & strong.5Perfect for newbies!!My first attempt at cold brewing coffee did not go at all wonderful and for a while I was timid of attempting cold brewing again. But in the hot weather a nice iced coffee really hits the spot, and of course eventually you start thinking if you made your own you can save some money from buying the ready made stuff. Came across this kit in my search, it was highly and seemed to tick all the right boxes (flavorful, easy to make, minimum mess, etc) and had the added advantage of being its own brewing and dispensing system - no need to commit to any special gadgets. Perfect for newbies!!Basically you get a large resealable dispenser pouch complete with nozzle, with 12 sealed filter bags of grounds inside. Put 4 bags into the pouch and add your cool filtered water, seal and allow to 'brew' a minimum of 12hrs in the fridge. At the end of your brewing period, remove the filter bags and reseal the pouch, making sure you squeeze as much of the air out as you can.It says that the concentrate will keep for up to two weeks but ours barely lasted the week. We kept as close as we could to the 12hr brew and mix it 1:1 with milk or with ice and creamer.5Smooth and RefreshingOh man, you won't find any cold brew coffee as satisfying and smooth as Grady's. I was hesitant to try a cold brew, but I was on a girls weekend and one of my hostesses set a glass in front of me. I was INSTANTLY HOOKED. I normally drink it black, which tastes amazing. And for 'fun' I put it with a creamer and ice and shake it up - which is also amazing. The instructions are easy to follow.The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the price is high. This would be an expensive every-day habit, which seems a little counter-intuitive since it is, after all, coffee. As a tip: I use a wonderful ARC Luminarc Glass Pitcher to brew this in my fridge. Make sure you remove the bag so it doesn't disintegrate! That's happened before and it wasn't fun to clean up . . .4Have been hooked for yearsGot hooked on Grady's a few years ago and never looked back. So easy to throw one of these bags in a pitcher of water and have iced coffee for the week. Works if you make it extra concentrated (and add extra milk/water when you drink it) or add more water to start with. Also great for travel -- easy to throw a bag or two in your luggage and make iced coffee in your hotel or Airbnb (I've even packed an empty brew bag in case my Airbnb doesn't have a pitcher).5don't follow their directionsIt makes no sense to use four bags and then water it down when you use it. Here's a far better idea: use one bag and use it straight. If you do it this way, your cold brew will last 4x longer. What do most people need a concentrate for? I prefer to have cold brew I can drink with just a bit of ice...it's in the fridge anyway.Great product...with instructions that only make you buy more too quickly and there is no need for that.3Saved me from my addiction to store w/the green & white mermaid logo!Ever since I started buying this coffee several months ago I have been saving money at the "bucko". It is consistently smooth and delicious. I buy both the caffeine & the decaf, and I mix the packets to create a caffeine concentrate. Note: this product results in a concentrate, kinda like espresso. You need to add water or milk, or whatever to create a full cup of coffee. That's a plus if you like to vary the strength or make lattes, etc. My morning bevy is a cold latte, so I use the concentrate as my shot or two of espresso and add milk (well, soy milk to be exact). I am now in control of my addiction and enjoy the ease of not needing a machine to brew espresso. HINT: you can freeze any surplus in zip lock baggies; just lay flat in the freezer until frozen. I definitely recommend giving this brand a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed.5Really great cold brew!I have become an absolute fanatic about cold brew, and have tried many, many brands! Grady s is right up there in my top three favorites. I do not use the pouch, but use two packs in a 2 quart pitcher to steep them. The pouch seemed a little gimmicky, and other reviewers seemed to have problems with it, so I chose to avoid it. That doesn t take away from the coffee though, which is absolutely delicious!5
