I contacted the manufacturer and they have taken folic acid ...I contacted the manufacturer and they have taken folic acid out of this product. The one I received had methyl folate exclusively. For those with MTHFR concerns. 5Must have!!! Excellent product!This stuff has changed my life. I literally used to be almost crawling on all fours by the end of the day because I was so tired. Now I have a very healthy energy that I haven't felt for the past 6 years. 5Noticed a difference after the first pillI recently found out that an ingredient in a lot of B Vitamins does not absorb easily and make the liver work a lot harder, basically rendering the vitamin useless. It's called cynacobalamin. I read you will want a B vitamin that has methylcobalamin. After reading Amazon reviews, I decided on Jarrow Formulas brand.They are in a veggie cap, about the size of a normal calcium capsule, so not huge. The color of the power is a cream to slight yellow (this comes into play later). You get 100 caps per bottle and the caps contain no wheat, soybean, gluten, fish/shellfish, nuts/tree nuts, eggs, or dairy.I usually take them first thing in the morning with my breakfast and noticed, from the first day, that I had a steady stream of energy until about 4:00 p.m. I was used to taking another B-complex and didn't feel this way, having changed nothing else, I'm going to conclude it was the B-Right, along with the additional Jarrow Formulas B-12 lozenge (I used to take a sublingual B-12 lozenge along with my other B-complex vitamin. I replaced both with Jarrow Formulas). The second difference between my old B-Complex and B-Right is the very lovely neon yellow urine color. I guess you at least know your body is processing it. Just an FYI, don't be alarmed, but it's very, very neon yellow.I'm very happy with this product and will continue to use B-Right, along with the Methyl B-12, both from Jarrow Formulas. 5Mold?I have been taking these forquite a while and I am getting near the bottom of the bottle. I was filling my dispenser and found these 3 capsules. It looks like mold but I don t know for sure. I threw the rest out just in case. Other than this, I haven t had any issues with them. 4Update: New Formulation, NO Folic AcidUpdate 8/2016: I see the new formulation is now availableOriginal, one-year review:FOLIC ACID, Folate and "methyl" forms of folate are not the same thing. So many people (even professionals) use these terms interchangeably, and it can be very confusing for people who are trying to understand MTHFR genetic polymorphisms and their impact on health."Folate" is what naturally occurs in foods (raw leafy greens, sunflower seeds, etc.).FOLIC ACID is synthetic, inexpensive and is found in most supplements (including pre-natals) and in fortified, processed foods. FOLIC ACID cannot be utilized well (if at all) in many people with MTHFR polymorphisms (genetic issues). Therefore it must be avoided by those folks because it binds to the folate receptors and prevents natural food sources of folate (and the already-broken-down, bioavailable "methyl-tetrahydrofolate" available in some OTC and prescription supplements) from gaining access.When FOLIC ACID can't be broken down, it cannot be utilized and it piles up in the body. So it is possible to have labs that indicate there is sufficient "folate" (they are actually measuring FOLIC ACID) when the patient is actually suffering from health problems as the result of a functional folate deficiency or insufficiency.Yesterday our doctor was upset when my husband's labs came back with elevated "folate" (which is actually measuring FOLIC ACID) even though we both rigorously avoid it in foods and supplements. We both have MTHFR issues, mine being the worse.After re-checking our supplement bottles I discovered that Jarrow's B-Right has apparently re-formulated this product since I first purchased it years ago.I immediately visited Jarrow's website. The product label displayed on the B-Right product page does NOT list "Folic Acid" anywhere in the ingredients. But the bottles that arrived from Amazon today sure do! They will be returned.I just wrote Jarrow to ask about the label information discrepancy. Apparently others who visited that product page on Jarrow's website also recognized the problem, and posted about it in their reviews. One person said that Jarrow informed them that 350 mcg of the 400 mcg of "folate" listed on the label is actually FOLIC ACID, while only 50 mcg is the advertised, bio-available "Quatrefolic" ((6S)-5-methyl-tetrahydrofolic acid).This is very disappointing, and it looks like it is "back to the drawing board" in my search for a replacement for this product in our supplement regimen. In the past we have recommended this supplement to other family members and friends who have MTHFR issues, and now I need to contact them all and tell them to stop taking it immediately.I will update this review when I hear back from Jarrow.Update: Jarrow said they have reformulated this product and the label on their website reflects that new formula... with no folic acid. Before that it contained both folic acid and methylfolate. I guess I was misled by the advertising and thought the product contained only methylfolate. That was before I was diagnosed with the MTHFR variants and became more diligent about examining labels.Here's the problem: Although Jarrow's reply indicated that there has been a re-formulation, I have yet to locate the new product in the "real world." Everything I see out there has the old label. So there you have it. 4Recent reviews are misleading- rated on individual reactions rather than quality.Recent misleading reviews- I wasn't intending to leave a review here. Subjectively this seems fine to me. But recent reviews give poor ratings and criticize this for 1. turning urine yellow, 2. not turning urine yellow, 3 causing Niacin flush, 4. not causing a Niacin flush. And so forth. Everyone will have somewhat different reactions to the large doses of the many forms of vitamin B in this product. Just because you happen to have a certain reaction, doesn't mean this is not a quality product. Also instead of possibly harmful folic acid or "natural" folate, this product has Quatrefolic , so that people with the MTHFR genetic defect can metabolize it to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, the biologically active form of the B-vitamin folic acid. Unfortunately folates contained in foods are unstable and susceptible to oxidation; they rapidly lose activity during food processing, manufacturing and storage and have a bioavailability range of 25-50%. Therefore Quatrefolic is a superior source of this vitamin B, (B9). Finally, I'm sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but there's nothing "natural" about a vitamin pill. If you're concerned about "natural vitamins," stick to "natural foods." and don't take a pill. People can be so unreasonable here! 4Capsules changed the colorAfter a while the capsules turned to be yellow with dark spots - see the picture attached. I dont see the option how to contact the seller and ask if it is still safe to take the supplement?... any advise? Thank You! 1Pills mold after you open themThese caps were yellow and a light shade at that...now after being open a month, they are starting to discolor and there are dark spots all throughout the capsule. Im worried its mold. The expiration date isnt until July of 2019. I wont be buying their products anymore cuz this is not only gross but very dangerous for someones health. Especially with a lower immune system like I have. 1**Read this if you think you have an allergic reaction***Love this B complex. I do occasionally flush with it, about once a week. At first I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something in my house. But I noticed it came on after I woke up and went away about an hour after it came on. Today it occurred to me it could be a niacin flush. Sure enough. Nothing to worry about. You might turn red, blotchy, itchy, etc. but it will go away within about an hour. It s just your capillaries opening up and it s a good thing! It just means you have enough niacin in your system.I think I only flush once a week because I had sufficient niacin the day before in my protein shake and food. I don t think it s inconsistent because of inconsistencies with the product.Jarrow is high quality and I trust the brand. There is very little smell to this product which is hard to find with a b complex. They use the best forms of each b vitamin and you get all of this at a great price. Highly recommended, I will continue to take! 5What a great product for poor methylators!B-Right is the best B vitamin i have come across thus far. I purchased it a while back and never really got to have a personal relationship with the supplement because i was taking another one for my MTHFR mutation which has higher doses in methylfolate and B12 methylcobalamin (1,000 mcg each). I had tried both of them at once and it was giving me headaches, probably due to the methylfolate overdose. So i left it out for a while. I recently started taking it again but this time at lunch (while i take my other supplement stronger supplement at breakfast) and it gives me energy throughout the day! It is amazing, i can do much more now in a day that i ever could. I have struggled with chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, aches and pain, you name it...i feel like a new me is born: more energy, much improved mood, brighter outlook on life, less anxiety and better ability to cope with stress, better sleep where i feel refreshed the next day and not foggy, better concentration, and overall a more positive attitude. What is not to like??? 5
