Open your Larabars before the return deadline. If there is a problem, let Amazon know right away.I recently ordered two boxes of 16 bars each of these Larabars. I generally really like these lemon bars. One box was fine. I opened the second box a few days ago and put a bar in my purse to eat while out. When I opened the bar I immediately smelled the mold and threw away the bar as I did not want it to smell up my purse. I have never seen this on any Larabar of any flavor. When I returned home I opened the box and took the wrapper off each one of the bars. Every one was moldy. The use by date was May 30, a month away, however the return date was already past. I wish I had opened the bad box earlier.I suggest you check out any you order before the return date expires. These are not inexpensive and It will give you a chance to recoup their cost if they are indeed inedible.1Lemon is my BFFPeople have raved about the blueberry flavor, but I'm here to tell y'all that lemon is where it's at. These bars are sweet, nutty and have a strong lemon taste. Although, if you hate the taste of dates - you may want to steer clear.I order a box of these every two weeks. They're my favorite lemon bars (Luna bars are pretty darn good, too). Do yourselves a favor and try them. The carrot cake and apple varieties are okay too.Worst flavor: Key lime. It tasted like old coconut shavings and has zero lime flavor. Stay away!5Larabar - a really great snackIt was the first time that I bought Larabars. I was only able to buy them since somebody went to the USA on a trip. What a pity that these bars cannot be ordered in Germany at a reasonable price. On a German blog I once read that "Raw Bite" bars are comparable, but according to my opinion Larabars are much better.The bars taste very natural. The mainly consist of dates, you see a few nut pieces of different sizes, and you can certainly smell the lemon oil. I love lemons. The bars are good to go until 03.18 or 04.18 (sorry, I forgot what I read this morning), but they taste so fresh that I would have thought that they are good for a year. They are moist but not so moist that you end up having sticky fingers, i.e. perfect.It is clear to me that they will not live to see 2018 in my household.I would clearly recommend anyone to buy Larabars, and if any of my friends travel to the USA again, I will not hesitate to try out other flavors. For me the bars serve as a meal replacement as I live gluten-free. I would definitely definitely recommend this product to anyone.5MoldI love the taste of these but the past two boxes I ve received have had moldy bars. Expiration date has not come yet, so this is very disappointing.1Lemon BarI expected this to taste delicious, but to my disappointment as soon as I opened the very first package there was an overwhelming smell of yeast coming from the bar. And when I looked at the bar it had a fine white layer all over. It had gone moldy! The expiration is supposed to be 30 May 2018. That s 2.5 months from now. Amazon needs to adjust their storage requirements of the larabars. Under proper storage conditions they re supposed to be good until the use by date. I ve bought boxes from the store before and have never had a problem. This is not the first time this has happened with larabars bought from Amazon. I didn t order for a long time after the last time (which was also the first time I ordered larabars from Amazon). I cycle between the Lemon and Key Lime bars the most, as they are light and fresh flavors and I prefer tart to sweet. I started an elimination diet to see what could be causing stomach issues, and these are one of the few simple ingredient bars that don t give me issues. I used to love the blueberry bars, but they changed the recipe and they are much drier now. Lemon and Key Limes are consistent winners. I keep these on hand in case I need a quick pick me up before a workout.540% price jump + inconsistent availabilityThis review is for the overall product experience, which goes far beyond taste (the bars do taste pretty good). This is a subscription that Amazon hasn't been able to stock consistently, and is now automatically converting into a product that costs about 40% more per ounce than before. I've had the subscription for a better part of a year, and compared prior cost for the 1.8 oz bars to the current cost for the 1.6 oz bars. Feel free to do the math yourself.The bars are pretty good, but not 40% better than other snack options.Pass.1Tasty treat with natural ingredientsIf you like the tartness of lemon squares, this is a firmer version that is pack-able and has just enough softened almonds and cashews for a nice change-up in taste and texture not found in lemon squares. Sweetness from dates (no powdered sugar). Tartness from lemon juice concentrate and dried lemons and hint of lemon oil. Seems quite healthful for a snack. Concentrated natural ingredients. No carrageenan, pectin, or agar holding it together. Potent flavor of lemons, so meant for nibbling with a beverage not inhaling! 200 Cal per 1.6oz serving which seems just right since it is strong. Always has been fresh. Like it enough to subscribe.5One StarLove these bars... however all have mold on them!1Pretty good !It has a good flavor, as all of the Lara bars that I have tried do, but not my favorite.
