Best dip for Vege PlatterWe ve been using the Savory Herb with Garlic for over a decade. We use it to make dip to go with our Vegetable platters, which we re asked to bring to most family & friends parties, picnics, BBQ s & gatherings. Everyone raves about the dip! The secret is to make it the night before so the sour cream has more time to absorb the contents of the packet. Yummy 5Deceiving - BUYER BEWAREThis is not a product review - as the product itself is wonderful! However, this is a vendor review. You are being deceived when it says 12 pack - as you would naturally assume you will receive 12 boxes. You only get 6 boxes with 2 packets per box. This makes it not a good value for the money at all. DO NOT PURCHASE!!!1Really good stuff!I was a little surprised to receive six boxes of two packs of soup per box - didn't read the fine print. I wondered what I would do with all that soup, but before too long I was ordering more. I found a Lot of things to do with it. I made gravy base for a pork roast. I tossed red potato chunks in olive oil and then the Herb and Garlic soup powder and baked them - oh my! I sprinkled it here and sprinkled it there - on meat and vegetables and whatever. It has a million uses and I haven't even made any soup yet.5Can no longer find in my grocery storeThis stuff is great but my grocery store stopped carrying the Savory Herb with Garlic variety. (They carry all the others, so it's a mystery to me.) Anyways, this is great on vegetables and I missed it enough to order it online. I especially like it on the little red potatoes. I cut them up and put them in a large freezer bag. Then I add olive oil and the Savory Herb seasoning and shake the bag to mix it up well. Sometimes I add grated Parmesan to the mix. I place in a glass baking dish and bake in the oven. My mouth waters just writing about it! Delicious!5Great for Chicken RecipeI mix this with mayonnaise and a little water and coat thinly-sliced chicken breasts. Then I spread them out in a pan and bake them uncovered in the oven for about 30 minutes at 425 degrees. It's a recipe that used to appear on the Savory Herb with Garlic box, and my family loves it. In shallow 1-quart casserole, combine/mix Savory Herb with Garlic Soup Mix, sour cream, ricotta cheese, 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.2.Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese.3.Bake uncovered 30 minutes or until heated through. Serve with bread.5Wonderful staple for many kitchen recipesLipton has created a wonderful mix for many uses with their Onion Mushroom soup. I love to use it in addition to my beef broth in the stews and roasts I make. A browned chuck roast with the addition of this mix and a can of cream of mushroom soup, wrapped tightly in foil, placed on a baking sheet and baked slowly at 300 for four hours makes for a delicious tender dinner. Many mixes have such a fake bullion taste but I find that this particular mix doesn't leave that shuddering after taste when used in conjunction with other ingredients. Simply wonderful when mixed with ground beef for hamburgers and grill.I also am addicted to just making a pan of it to use as a soup. I like to keep a jar of it in the refrigerator ready to go when I want a hot drink to curb my appetite. A cup only figures out to 1 WW point as it has no Trans fat or sugars. I limit myself to only 1 or 1/2 cup a day as it is quite high in sodium but the half cup does the trick in chasing off the hunger pangs. I find it one of those indispensable pantry stockers and my local grocers does not always carry it. The price here on Amazon is quite competitive.5Should have looked more closely at the ingredients.Should have looked more closely at ingredients, which was my mistake.2400 mg of salt in one envelope. That is 200% of the daily recommended amount. Although "added sugar" is supposedly less than 1%, each envelope contains both a fair amounts sugar, corn starch and corn syrup. Corn syrup is actually the 3rd item in the ingredients. Maltodextrin also acts like a sugar and raises blood sugar.What ticks us off the most is that although I would not expect "beef" in the packet, there isn't even any beef flavoring, real or artificial ! They add soy sauce which much be how they can claim it is "beefy".All in all somewhat average tasting and quite salty. However it is not a very healthy product. When we were young we ate Lipton soup mixes and dips all the time and enjoyed them. Maybe the ingredients have changed.Very disappointed - how can Lipton label this item as BEEFY ONION.1Best Stuff Ever!This is the best stuff ever and for some reason I can no longer find it in the store. My grown kids would fight over potatoes drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with a package of this Herb and Garlic mix then roasted at 450 degrees til tender inside and crispy outside. It's also great on roasts, pork chops and whatever your imagination will come up with. If you're a fan of garlic in general, this is a cooking "Must-Have."5and this is still the best I've had when not making it entirely from scratchThis is and has always been my family's go-to in regards to packet mixes for spinach dip. I have tried a few other brands, and this is still the best I've had when not making it entirely from scratch. To none of my own surprise, in my experience, this has also been the go-to for most people that I've met for the same use. If you like spinach dip and haven't tried it from the Knorr Veg mix, I'd definitely recommend it.5
