Good, like vanilla ice cream, though a bit nutty/artificial?For some reason I get acne from this. It could be that I'm allergic to Hazelnuts, but I actually think it's the artificial cream. I've had acne issues from multiple artificial cream coffee flavors, like the Cinnamon Donut flavored coffee I drink at work. They use some type of ingredient that doesn't agree with me.Still, I love the flavor of this. I add a splash of half & half with a bit of Stevia, and use a Hyperchiller 2 to make it into an iced coffee. The 10oz bag isn't huge but for the price, it's going to last me about 15-20 2tbsp servings, or 40 6oz cups. With subscribe&save and 5% cashback from Amazon, it's only $4, so $0.10 per 6oz cup or about $0.25 in total to make myself a 12oz iced coffee. Very solid.The freshness of the product isn't really an issue. It's not too bitter and keeps well in the bag. I put it in a sealed container. Coffee roasters, grinders, and enthusiasts will probably not like this flavor, but I drink anything from generic ALDI coffee to the $10 cups of coffee in New York without complaining. But, recently, I've had to give up caffeinated coffee and I'm not loving it. But I discovered through a medical DNA test that I'm a very slow caffeine metabolizer--which explains why having one cup in the morning keeps me from sleeping that night.The first thing I noticed about this coffee is that it smells WONDERFUL. If you are a regular drinker of decaf, then you know that even the more pricey brands of decaf often have a bitter, kind of nasty smell to it. I don't get what causes that, but it's a little troubling, considering regular coffee never has that. But this coffee doesn't have that smell.For the price, I honestly expected the taste to be artificial or off, but it's not. It's not at all chemically or artificial, and the flavor is subtle enough that, although you know you are drinking hazelnut coffee, it doesn't offend your taste buds.The only issue I have with this is that it seems to have more caffeine in it than other decaf coffees I drink, which is why I took off a star. I have a cup of this in the morning, and it's 50/50 that I end up waking up later that night an hour into my sleep. I definitely cannot consume it after noon if I want to sleep that night.If you aren't a super slow caffeine metabolizer like me, then this probably won't matter to you. But since there isn't any REAL oversight of how much caffeine is actually present in most decaf coffees, it's worth knowing that this one seems to have a bit more than most.4Don't buy the New England hazelnut coffee hereWe drink this brand most of the time, purchasing it either at local grocery stores or occasionally from big retailers like Amazon, Target or Walmart, if they have a discounted price. The lot we purchased here has been the absolute worst we've ever had.When you open a new "pound," you should get a jolt of that excellent hazelnut coffee aroma - with these packages there is nothing. When brewed, the coffee is basically tasteless. I won't call it stale as it doesn't have that flavor, but there is definitely something wrong with these packages.Don't fall for the discount price, the savings isn't worth it. Someone it either dumping very old coffee, or the storage of these bags has ruined the flavor.1Smells and tastes great!I needed a decaf that didn't taste awful for coffee after 12pm so I can sleep at night. I love coffee, and I was tired or resorting to water and hot chocolate all the time. This fit the mark, and I only add a little half and half and stevia to my cup. I am relieved to not be up all night now.5Smoth Taste - Great for After DinnerThe hard thing about reviewing coffee is that taste is a personal thing. I am not fond of strong coffee or heavy roasted flavor like Starbucks, so that give you an idea of whay my tatse is.This is really a smooth coffee with a nice Hazelnut flavor. The Creme taste is light and not overpowering, and takes away any bitterness. I really enjoy this in the evening when I wan decaf with a bit of flavor to it. The price is a little high, but it really is premium coffee.5Unappealing cup of decaf. No flavor. Watery.Extremely disappointed. I didn t taste vanilla. I just tasted watered down coffee. I had high hopes for a tasty decaf that I could replace my caffeinated cup of joe with, but this is not the one. I generally prefer a medium roast but I can also appreciate a light roast flavored coffee. This one tastes very watered down and there is a bitter aftertaste. I don t taste vanilla at all despite the strong vanilla smell from the grounds prior to brewing.1Just as good if not better than the premium store canBought this as an alternative to the $7.50 cans from the store. I substituted this into the coffee maker without telling my wife and she didn't even notice. I asked her how her coffee was and she said "Great". A week later I told her I was using new coffee and she didn't even care, but I'll tell you my wallet did. I get these on subscribe and save and it ends up being $5 a bag, which lasts a week (only my wife drinks this). Thats $20 a month versus $30 for the premium store can. That may not seem like a lot, but when you add up all the stuff I get on Subscribe and Save and the savings per month, it ends up being $50 or $60 combined. The little here and the little there add up.5Taste is personal . . . .. . . . which makes reviews on food products tough. I make coffee 1/2 decaf and have been looking for a good decaf vanilla (a flavor I love). When I found this at such a great price I bought a few bags to mix with my regular vanilla. That was a mistake. The New England French Vanilla decaf tasted like Hazelnut (not a flavor I care for in coffee.) The flavor was so strong it overrode the vanilla flavor of the regular coffee it was mixed with. So, if you like Hazelnut, buy this Vanilla. If not, look for something else.1
