I trust it is doing something good.I add to my protein shakes for added nutrition. Don't feel any different, or more energy, or any other health benefit but I trust it is doing something good. 4Works!I made a smoothie for my husband and myself. Since 2 people were partaking, I used 2 teaspoons of the powder, 2 bananas, 4 scoops of vanilla ice cream, and about 3/4 cup of peanut butter ...I wasn't interested in it tasting like poo. This concoction tasted good. It does goo up when you add the powder to the blender, so I poured a little water from my hot tea kettle down the insides of my blender to get it to dissolve. I'm curious if this killed any of its properties, but the algae can grow in extreme heat and cold, so I doubt it. Plus, it worked before I even finished my glass. 5Yes, the taste is less than terrible but...When I prepared my first dose of this product I got myself psyched up to down it because of some of the negative reviews I read before buying saying how awful the taste was. Well to those of you who wrote negative reviews about the taste I have to say that you were exactly right... initially. So I choked it back and I felt like I was going to chuff it out half-way down but I made it through and surprisingly I felt fine when it was over. Like no different than knocking out a big glass of water fine... Like afterward, not during; and I found it very agreeable with my system. No tummy ache etc..So the taste didn't improve for a while and I repeated this ritual every morning for about three weeks. It got better. I mean this stuff isn't Kool-Aid. It's algae. ALGAE. I accepted this and So did my palate and today the taste doesn't bother me... that much. I guess there was a breaking in period for this stuff. At least for myself. Sound have I experienced any noticeable benefits? Yes. More sustained energy throughout the workday. Subtly, my overall awareness has increased... like spatial memory and overall mental clarity. I'm feeling a little sharper I guess and that's good being at work 10+ hours a day; and during my workouts I seem to recover MUCH quicker between sets than before. Anyway I could go on. So, for those wanting to try this stuff I would say be prepared for it to be some rough stuff. This isn't a drink for pleasure, it is a drink for health. But like anything else good for you, it'll take some getting used too. I believe the benefits for me are far outweighing the getting used to the taste part. Five stars. 5a miracle product for my needsi have a rare form of diabetes and a ton of complications. stroke, cancer, heart failure and then GASTRO PARESIS. since my cardiologist insisted i become vegan, i have a lot of stomach issues from the GP. it's dangerous and requires hospitalization and surgery if it gets too bad. your stomach is paralyzed so whole food just sits in it. very unpleasant, painful and requires meds. ok so what? right? i have a point. after speaking with gastro drs and they wanted to shove a tube down my throat but i have almost died 3 times from being intubated so hellno. i started researching, read about this product, tried it, without much faith in it and was totally shocked at the difference it has made in my life. MY LIFE! i thought i was having heart attacks or had an ulcer because of the stomach pain before i started taking spirulina every day. within 2 days, i felt better. within a week. i have been using this daily for weeks and have had no flares. i still have to be careful not to eat certain things, but this has given me back my life. i can actually eat without pain, i seemed to heal my gut, has given me energy and gives me a little added protein which is sometimes difficult eating vegan. so thank you for making and selling this product. 5Great product!I purchased this product as a nutritional aid for my 90 year old mother. She has been diagnosed with severe cognitive decline and recently (in the past 6 months) had been having trouble sleeping - at time waking with 'night terrors'. Since taking 1 tsp of Organic Spirulina Powder in 4oz of tomato juice everyday and from the FIRST day, she has slept thru EVERY night peacefully! We love this product! 5HELLO ENERGY!my goodness I love this... I put one tablespoon in my protein shake in the mornings and I could feel the difference in energy. it does smell bad but I does not taste bad when I put it in my protein shake. I don't need coffee when I take this :-) I'm super happy I found this specially after reading the benefits online. All my friends are getting into it too :-) 5This Spirulina is great.This is the only Spirulina that I know of that has an Organic label. This is important to me to vote with my money in supporting Organically grown practices. People want to diss it and say it taste bad, but there is nothing wrong with it, and that is how Spirulina NATURALLY tastes, before it has been processed with higher than normal temperatures, that other Spirulina companies do. This does something to the taste to make it more palatable maybe, but in the processing, nutrients are lost. So I very much enjoy this algae, knowing that this company goes to great lengths to make this product pure and highly nutritious. 5Great product!I really like this product and NOW, and have recommended it to many friends. I've been taking this spirulina powder for a few years (including throughout my pregnancies), but I saw a major discrepancy on the label recently. I had been taking a TABLESPOON as the label says, but the last one I received says, "serving size one level TEASPOON", not tablespoon. I though I misread the label before and had been taking three times the amount... But now not so sure since the label shown on Amazon says a tablespoon is a serving. Also, The vitamin information is different: 190% of vitamin B-12 for 1 teaspoon compared to 70% for 1 tablespoon on the previous label- this doesn't make any sense.UPDATE: The manufacturer contacted me to explain there was a change in supplier, hence the change in label. He also mentioned Amazon takes a while to update product photos. 5good source of proteinSpirulina has a plethora of health benefits. I am taking it for several of them. I take it straight in water with a little lemon. It is a most unpleasant taste. Most people put in a smoothie. Regardless of it's taste, I will continue to drink it as I have already seen the benefits; blood pressure, glowing skin, good source of protein, and antioxidant benefits. NOW brand makes quality products. I recommend this. 5Worried about microcystins and anatoxinWorried about microcystins and anatoxin. Whenever I take this I get extremely dizzy for short moments throughout the day- sometimes i will be standing and have to sit because i feel like im about to faint. Also, the right side of my torso hurts sometimes when I take this. I would stay away from spirulina until more large studies have been done on its effect on the liver and possible neurotoxins. Also, more transparency on what kind of containment tests these brands go through in regards to toxins like this. It great that they do heavy metal testing but I could not anything on tests for other toxic containments 2
