Great source of fiberBecause we are trying to limit our breads, grains and sweets, I still get the urge for something sweet. This is naturally sweet and good for you - I also need the fiber - and they taste great. Thank you for the quick delivery and for the freshness of the product. I always need something to snack on in the middle of the day or at work when I haven't had time to stop for lunch. I bag up a bunch of these seedless goodies and take them wherever I go. Working in the funeral industry, we often don't have the opportunity to stop and grab a meal. This takes care of the hunger pangs and is satisfying. Thanks for an excellent product.5Wonderful dates, lasts MONTHS.I have now bought two bags of these dates. They are excellent. We store it in the fridge so it lasts a long time (months), so that does impact the softness. They're very soft when shipped. You can always put them in warm water to increase softness if needed. I use these dates to sweeten smoothies or cashew milk, and it works great. My kids love them too and are a better sugar boost than eating candy! (thought it tastes like candy)5Yummy!Bought these in bulk because I was tired of having to purchase from my local grocery store at ridiculous rates. Unfortunately, this shipment arrived in a small plastic bag and the dates had been smashed to the point there was no way to distinguish one from the other. I am sure we will find a way to use them but be aware that the new shipping method leaves these delicious dates at risk of being smashed in transit. I'm pregnant and have been craving yummy dates.My second disappointment was the first date I pulled out of the bag and bit in to was full of black mold. I spit it out and threw it away. I wasn't willing to give up as I really wanted to love these dates as so many others had raved about. I cut open 3 more dates to be sure there wasn't any mold before eating them and enjoying with my kids. They were just ok. They were a bit tough for my taste. If I wasn't headed out the door and hungry, I wouldn't have ate them. But I did. I won't order them again. I found myself at whole foods later that day buying some of their organic medjool dates to satisfy my craving.I gave 3 stars because many reviews said they weren't mushy, I just didn't expect them to be so tough. Also because my first disappointment was my fault.3Not the best organic medjools, but still quite goodGood organic medjools. They're not the best I've had, and not the worst either. A little small, fairly squashed (not from shipping to me because they were we'll packed in a roomy box, so they must have been squashed before shipping). I've had much bigger, jucier, and more flavorful medjools, but they were also more expensive. The seller's claim that these are the best available is simply not true, but they are still very good dates, especially for the price. I'm satisfied with this purchase.Note: The price has gone up considerably on the five pound bag since I place my "subscribe and save" order in December, 2016. So they're not such a good deal for the price anymore.4beware of moldy dates!When these are good, they're awesome. Very plump and sweet but also have a little toothiness to them, meaning they're not just mush. But notice I said "when these are good." We've had multiple bags now that are super mushy and nasty -- one even smelled like it was fermenting in the bag -- and as you can see in the pic you must watch out for moldy dates. We cut them open every time to inspect.This is a decent price for a lot of dates (yes, we eat a ton!) and I like the convenience of Subscribe & Save, so we'll keep ordering these. Have you ever eaten dates with a little smear of peanut butter?! Heaven! We get several other Food to Live products on S&S and most of them are very high quality and we'll continue to buy them.4Poor quality and not from Israel as claimed.These dates were advertised as being a product of Israel, and a representative of the company stated that they were when another user questioned their origin. However, the dates I received were a "product of USA" grown in California. The dates had heavy sugar crystallization, indicating that they were speed dried in a machine at too high a temperature and that they had then been stored at temperatures near freezing for at least six months for so much crystallization to occur. I would not recommend this product nor this company to anyone.2
