Totally worth the few extra pennies!I have been making the switch to more natural/organic products in all aspects of my life as much as possible and personal hygiene products are high on my list of priorities. I really like these so far. They absorb well, I am not sure if I can say as well as the synthetic kind but you know what they are good enough and less risky in my opinion.The applicator is cardboard; I m not a fan of cardboard ones because they tend to be a little uncomfortable to put on compared to the smooth plastic ones but honestly it wasn t that bad at all.The packaging is made from all organic natural materials which is great and I believe even the box is made from recycled cardboard.They are a little pricier than the synthetic but not by much and honestly for a couple dollars more I d rather use something that is natural than I m the synthetic alternative.Overall great product! I highly recommend!Hope this helps! If it does give me a helpful vote :)56 months and counting....I have been using these for about 6 months. I'm on the reorder plan, where they ship every month without me ordering them.Before these I used normal tampons (Tampax, Playtex, etc) for many many years without issue. It wasn't until recently that I notice I would get almost like an allergic reaction to them. I won't go into details, but it was uncomfortable. I decided to try something different.I thought about using a cup and I still might, but I needed something I knew would work immediately so I ordered these and received them within a few days. They came in a medium sized box with some plastic wrap. No issues with packaging.As of today-6 months later and 6 boxes later- I still really like them. I see no reason to change. I read some of the negative reviews that said they were hard to insert, they aren't. I don't know what others are doing, but these are as easy to insert as plastic applicators. I've NEVER had an issue.Packaging has always been great. Maybe a smaller shipping box could be used, but it's nothing to do with the product.As of today I have never had any reaction to these at all. They aren't as absorbent as other tampons, but they do hold a lot. I change them ever 4-6 hours anyways regardless of the flow.I highly recommend these for anyone looking for an alternative to the chemical ridden tampons we've all been using for way too long.5Just go to TargetWhat a waste. They are worth a try!5Review on Organyc cotton tampons with applicator REGULAR"This is a product that I purchased for my wife to use so I will let her explain it in her own words." -Mechpilot 01-I've used two so far and I love them. I don't know why people say they hurt, don't work, etc. I've tried the cardboard applicator tampons from the store and those ones always hurt but these ones were as smooth as plastic. The cardboard moved easily and if you have trouble with it I suggest twisting it or the tampon. The first time I used one I pushed the tampon out a little bit before use since everyone said the tips hurt. The second time I forgot to push the tampon out and it worked any way. As for absorbency I find them to be the same as the store bought regulars just healthier for you! I find them real easy to use but if you have a hard time with inserting try lubricating the tampons with a little olive oil or coconut oil (natural lube). I tried a Lady Cup to save money but ended up hating it since the stem is too short and you have to give birth to it to get it out (plus really messes and involves lots of cursing).5Buying AgainThis has everything I want.1: I'm not inserting toxic, or GMO cotton inside my body. So grateful these are available. That's the most import. (Regular cotton has unfortunately become 90% GMO, which means literally 90% carcinogen). Exasperating.2: the price on these is reasonable (and I think even similar to non-organic brands).3: the applicators, inside packaging and absorbency all work just fine.Will be getting again, no brainer. 5 stars from me...5Worst tampons I ve ever usedThe cardboard applicator is uncomfortable and hard to use and basically doesn t even work most times. So be prepared to use your fingers. Also some were bent or broken. Was excited for organic cotton but these are suuuch low quality1Same protection, without the chemicals or wastefulness!The Duane Reade in my area stopped carrying them, so buying online now. Just as easy! No difference in usage compared to other brands. Tampax Pearl does have a fancy plastic applicator, true, it's a great one, but wasteful. Organyc's card board applicator works just as well. And since we're being conscientious about our bodies, why not about the environment? Paper disintegrates.5Love theseThese have really been a good tampon. They do not cause any sort of irritation. I use to frequently get irritated down there during my period for years!!!! Some how I stumbled across reviews for organic pads when I was looking for something for after I had my baby. Some reviews were saying how good they were being chemical bleach and chlorine free and that those things could cause irritation and infections which I suffered from after my first baby. So I switched to organic pads and I used them 5 weeks without even the smallest bit of irritation! So after my healing I began using these tampons and same result. No irritation at all!!!! I'm amazed that it's made such an improvement in my vaginal health! These are very similar too the shape of the old tampax you use to be able to buy in bathrooms for a quarter. They are longer but I like that. I did experience some leaking the first time I used these and almost stopped but the next time I tried them and the few times after I've had no problem. It seems like sometimes you just might insert them a little weird no matter what kind you use. I feel much safer knowing there's nothing toxic going up there ;)Getting these in though takes work. And two hands. And time. I'm used to the plastic tampax applicators that just slide right in. These cardboard applicators do not slide against each other at all. You almost have to prep it by loosening the cardboard by twisting it around and pushing it up a bit. Then I've found wrapping a dry piece of toilet paper around where you would hold it gives it traction for you to push the tampon in. And it's pretty much every time, it's not a fluke thing. They take some getting used to but I'm going to stick with them because I know they're better for me.5
