I use it as a perfume and in my and my spouse s diffusers. It has a lasting scent that reminds me of the way the smell of my cornets linger on my lips for hours after I play them even for a few minutes in the morning. Patchouli I describe as a very calming, but deep smell. In that way it is similar to a cornet, so maybe that is why I like it so since I play cornet. I love the larger size (4 oz,) Plant Guru sells because it lasts so long and is so easy to dispense a few drops just where I need them. I keep mine on my small roll out spice shelf and I like that these larger bottles fit so nice and safely on my spice shelf. Me and my spouse were accidentally knocking down the small bottles VERY early in the morning and we never do this with the larger size. Since we keep them on a low shelf they are also very easy to read what type of oil they are in the larger size without bending down.5BIG DISAPPOINTED!I bought the large bottle of patchouli and in just a few weeks, the dropper top disintegrated! This bottle of oil lasts a long time and the seller wouldn't make good on it. It is important to keep the oil in the dark and closed. Seller was very rude. The smaller bottles are covered by Prime but not the larger size. I don't know why. Apparently I am not the only one that had issues with the rubber on top of the dropper. The oil smells great but doesn't last very long. Now it will just sit in the bottle and ruin and the glass portion of the dropper is in the oil.Will never buy from this seller again! Bad business handling!1Amazing for acne and tension relief!This oil is absolutely amazing if you like the smell of patchouli. It's rich and very undiluted. I purchased it to use mainly for the scent benefits of tension relief, but after learning it helped clear your skin, I gave it a shot. I have been suffering with adult acne for awhile now, including dry flakey skin along with small bumps all over the sides of my face. I pat three drops all over my face after cleansing and honestly this is the best remedy for adult acne and age lines on the forehead that I have used to date. My skin is soft and clear when I wake up. I also mix it in with my conditioner and my hair hasn't felt this soft and strong in a long time. Every night I also mix 6 drops in with about 8 ounces of water and drink it (in one giant gulp- I love the smell but the taste not so much) for the medicinal benefits that also come along with it because apparently this stuff is a wonder oil! I feel like my skin is finally starting to get the glow back that it used to have when I was younger. Definitely one of my favorite purchases that I would recommend to anyone! And for the price, this find is even more amazing!5... I've found to Young Living and that is my favorite. It not nearly as diluted as I've found ...Pro - This is the closest Patchouli scent I've found to Young Living and that is my favorite. It not nearly as diluted as I've found in quite a few other's for basically the same off brand price and WAY cheaper than Young Living. It does not "pour" out of the container like most of the cheap ones do, but rather the drops have to be shaken out. Scent lasts longer in the diffuser too.Cons - The largest size is only 10 ml. I sure would like to see it come in a larger size. 15 ml at the least.5Very pleased.Patchouli Essential Oil is an interesting fragrance which changes in subtle ways depending on where it's sourced, so I've learned over the years that it's good to pay attention to that part because the same oil from different countries can smell quite different. That being said, Plant Guru don't list where their essential oils are sourced, although the Patchouli Oil I've bought here in the U.S. seems to be sourced mainly from Indonesia.Patchouli is also an oil that you either love or hate. I disliked it for many years, but I think that's because the one's I came across just didn't smell good to me. Plant Guru's Therapeutic Grade Dark Patchouli Oil is lovely however, and has a rich, smokey, earthy, warm scent with a slight floral accent. It is quite a potent scent by itself, but as an accent in fragrance and beauty blends it is quite special.Plant Guru is one of my go-tos for high quality oils. They have a really interesting and diverse product range, and although they can be a little on the costly side they are a very reliable and efficient source of great quality products. I'm extremely discriminate with oil suppliers, but Plant Guru so far have not disappointed.5just like the old dayswhen I was a hippie kid 50 years ago I used to get patchouli oil in the 'head shops' in Greenwich Village, NY. I remember my mother hating it but all of us wore it. fast forward to now. I bought this just to see if it was like the old stuff. I knew it was the real stuff because when I smelled it right from the bottle it was horrible. but as time passes it morphs into that great patchouli smell. my wife now hates it so I pour a few drops on a perfume tester strip and leave it in my car. it lasts about a week or two and everyone who rides with me can't believe how good my car smells. not like those cheapo things you hang from the mirror that smell like a chemical plant. I can't wait to see what my car will smell like with those two mixed together. oh, and when my wife and I have an argument I put a few drops on the lightbulb in the lamp next to my bed. smells up the whole room. really pisses her off.5SubtleSubtle. This is not a word usually associated with patchouli. Depending on preparation, processing, and purveyor, different patchoulis can be bold, striking, sweet, cloying, acrid, musky, or any combination of the aforesaid. But they are almost always "up front" and distinctive. This one, however, seems to "back up". It IS subtle after the initial application. Deep, rich, woodsy--it comes on almost like an after-thought. Patchouli lovers tend to connect with their scent on an emotional level. And wide and varied are these emotions! There are several good patchoulis out there. And they all have their champions and detractors. I've settled on about three. This one is my special occasion patchouli.5I like the smell of this one Strong & Pungent smelling, I use it as a base fragrance on my skin and add other layers of lighter smelling essential oils. I like the smell of this one. The only thing I am unsure of is that when it arrive either the bottle cap was super easy to crack open or the cap came unsealed upon arrival. I've opened may bottles like this but never that easily. Otherwise I like the product and would have given it a 5. 4Great quality!!..Fills me with so many nostalgic memories!I got this oil to try out because there is something very nostalgic about patchouli oil for me. As a kid growing up I remember always smelling this scent. I remember smelling it at home but especially at church. I hadn t smelled this scent a quite a while but I wanted to try it out to put into my diffuser because I remember always loving the scent. When I got this patchouli oil it did not disappoint. It was just as strong and potent and I ve always remembered it to be which speaks very highly of the quality of this oil. Seeing that this oil is so helpful for the skin and aiding in depression and anxiety, I knew that I would be using this oil quite a bit. I love to use this oil in my diffuser blended with a couple other oils. Because I have mild eczema, I have been adding a couple drops of this into my bath water to help heal my skin and I think it works. I ve been really enjoying this oil and I really like it.As a person who looks to reviews to help in my purchasing experience, it is always imperative to be as honest and thorough in my reviews as I possible can be. I put just a dab (small) and it lasts all day on my skin. I also tried putting it in a spray bottle w/ water, shaking it and then using it as a spray freshener around the house...this way does Not last, I'm afraid. I also tried a few drops on cotton balls around the house, and in the dryer. Again, although I can smell it subtly at first, it just doesn't last more than an hour. Depending on your desired use, I feel this oil is very good and better than most I've ever tried. Again- a drop goes a long way on your body. 5This is a great oil.... A little goes a loooong way. You will get your monies worth on this. It doesn't have a nasty chemical smell either. It is earthy & a little sweet ... as a good patchouli should be. Quality product here. I've bought others that weren't so nice. I've actually spent a small fortune on oils.... trial n error. Happy with this one & wasn't paid , nor received a discount for review. 5Groovy baby......I received this patchouli oil today and even though the bottle is small what waits inside is the biggest surprise Then I opened it up and put a small dab on my wrist ( here's where the story goes off the deep end )...I was suddenly transported back in the 70's. I was wearing my bell bottom jeans, fringe suede vest, flowerd headband and peace sign necklace. This is the BEST patchouli ever !!!
