You get what you pay for.I don't like the placement of the ice packs. It doesn't treat the sides of my knee and I the packs are spaced far enough apart that I don't feel like it is equal chilling. They make it seem like you can walk around in it but there's no way you could do that considering where the ice is. I do like that it velcros on and I may try to modify it to put larger gel cold pads in it rather than the small ice ones. 3Just okay....This ice wrap is just okay. I just had a knee replacement due to an acute injury a few years ago and have become somewhat of an ice pack connoisseur. Have tried many. At physical therapy they use a heavy pack that wraps fully around the knee and stays very cold for a long period of time. I was hoping the Polar Ice knee wrap would be the same but, sadly, it's not.ProsThe wrap material is very soft and comfortableEasy to remove the ice packs as neededThe straps are nice and do a good job securing the wrap to your leg. If tightened enough, one can walk around with it on.ConsI'm a woman with average size knees and thighs. This does not wrap all the way around my leg. The straps do but not the wrap nor the ice packs.The ice packs are very thin and do not stay cold for very long. I would say 15-20 minutes max.I suspect there are better wraps out there. 3Great product, fits all sizes (really!)This is a great product, you don't have to mess with ice bags or wrapping them in a towel to avoid ice burns. It is super easy to put on, fits well (my knee area is a bit larger than average, but the velcro tapes would fit really, really large legs). It is flexible fit well around the differing sizes of different parts of the leg. I was told to ice my knee three times a day, and wasn't able to do it because of the mess and trying to get the ice to stay in the right place, etc. This solved the problem completely. I highly recommend. 5Good in between icingIt's comfortable and great to use when I didn't want to deal with a bulky wrapping of ice. Having and wanting to keep my knee iced as much as possible after my ACL repair surgery, I used it for in between icing from my ice machine/cold therapy unit. Worked great. I don't think I would use as the sole way to ice after surgery because I would want something that would last more than the 2 hours that this could remain cold for. Overall, I was still happy with purchase. 5Completely ineffective. Threw it away.Purchased this before having knee surgery. Tried it out before surgery, was rather dismayed at the ineffectiveness of the product. When I went to return it, there is no return policy (meaning I just got ripped off). Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere, this is a cheap rip off of an ice pack. In fact, this item is so bad it's prompted me to write my first review Amazon review. I played competitive division 1 basketball so I understand what this product is trying to do, and it fails miserably. 1Design is good, but doesn't do the jobWhile the material is comfortable and the straps work pretty good in hugging the wrap to the joint or area you are trying to treat, the actual icing function is very subpar. It just doesnt get the joint cold enough and a few of the little cube pockets already burst with very light use. Instead of icing it basically cools the area its on and doesn't even stay cool for very long. I recommend that you spend a few more bucks on a gel ice pack wrap system that will actually "ice" the joint or body part you intend to treat.Also, the seller does't accept returns, which is a dead giveaway for no faith in their product. 2Comfortable, Easy to Use and EffectiveI had knee surgery and when the discharge papers instructed me to ice my knee 20 minutes every waking hour for the first 48 hours, I thought this would be awful but it was so easy with the Polar Ice knee wrap. The inserts freeze quickly and are easy to use and the wrap is lightweight and comfortable. You just velcro it on and forget about it. I had very little pain and only used pain meds for 2 days. This wrap is simply the best! It really helped me have a swift and comfortable recovery period. 5Perfect for what i need....Perfect for what I need. I get 20 plus minutes of good cold relief, then refreezes quickly. I do not use it any longer then recommended. I wanted something that would wrap around my knee and stay in place if I needed to move around. This fits the bill perfectly. I would definitely recommend to anyone with knee issues. 5Really good after sportsI play on a rugby team on the weekend, and I often find myself really sore in my legs after a particularly hard game. I ve been looking for an ice pack that I could wear and move around in rather than one that made me stationary for 30 minutes while I had it on. I found this particular one and added it to my post-game healing regimen, and I was completely satisfied with the results. The pack wraps completely around my leg, and the little ice packs last for the full 30 minutes that I keep it on. I haven t had a single experience where it melted. I absolutely adore it, and it serves my specific purposes. Basically, when I get home from rugby, I usually put the pack on right away, and leave it on for half an hour. After I take it off, I do some restorative stretches (carefully) and then apply my topical pain reliever, ThermaChill Pain Relief Roll On Cold Therapy, 3 fl oz. - Top Choice for Arthritis, Migraine Relief, Joint & Muscle Pain - Limited Time Offer: Buy 1 Get 1 Free!. This is useful because the stretches prevent cramping in the morning after I ve iced the affected areas, and then the thermachill warms and cools the pained spots so that I don t feel any pain right then. I leave this on for the rest of the evening, and then take a hot bath at the end of the night with epsom salts. After doing all of this, I rarely get any soreness the following day. Long winded review, I know, but I figured I would share my method with others. At any rate, buy the ice pack its awesome! 5Great product!I don't write a lot of reviews but felt compelled to review this knee wrap. I've used it only once, so if it falls apart, I will update my review, but this is the best cold wrap I have found for the knee (and I've tried a lot of them). First of all, this wrap is enclosed in a soft, Velcro secure cloth. It wraps just about all the way around my knee (all sides of knee are enclosed- not my thigh, but that's okay for my purposes) so my entire knee is getting the benefit of the cold therapy without having to adjust it. It is secure- so I can move with it on and it stays in place! Also, the actual cold pack is made of little cubes of ice so it is totally flexible around my knee. I had surgery a few years ago and I wish I had this post op as it is superior to the wrap I had back then. It is very similar to the one that was used in my physical therapy appointments. I highly recommend this knee wrap to anyone needing cold therapy for any reason in the knee. I could also see this wrap being an excellent size to use on other body parts such as the hip and the shoulder or even the ribs or back. 5
