I have a boot that I have been wearing but thought this might be a good alternative to wear at night when I need to ...If I could give zero stars I would. One star for showing on time. You could wear a velcro Tevi shoe and get more support than this product provides. I have a broken bone in my foot. I have a boot that I have been wearing but thought this might be a good alternative to wear at night when I need to get up to let the dog out or get or whatever. That way I could wash the boot and give it the night to dry. No way. I am sending the shoe back because the straps are weird, the toe strap doesn't really tighten and I can't get any support. Defeats the purpose entirely. I was cheap and selected this as a low cost alternative for my purpose. Serves me right - back to the boot. 1Didn t do it s job and will most likely have to be in cast or boot even longerI ordered this for my mother who broke a bone in her foot. I was originally worried about the size as she wears a size 11 in normal shoes, but surprisingly the women s large fit her. However, the way the shoe is constructed her foot moves around in it when she walks and her foot actually hurts (unlike when she was wearing a boot).The way the Velcro on the end of the straps don t allow for you to tighten the boot enough so you can feel it sliding around and they constantly come undone, and are getting caught on things such as rugs around the house. You can t cut the straps any shorter because then you re cutting off the Velcro completely making the shoe even more worthless. I m afraid when she goes back in for her checkup that her broken bone may not have healed right or at all due to this product. 1Fracture boot.This fracture shoe is much more comfortable the knee high boot. Wearing it is so much easier than the larger boot which caused me tremendous back pain from the pressure being put on my other side. 4Really long strapsI broke my little toe and thus ordered this shoe. After clomping around for a bit, I realized (duh) that the Velcro attachment part is located only at the ends of each very long strap. I tied small knots in each strap, and this shortened them so that I could fasten the Velcro properly.I suppose if your foot is really tall or you re recovering from surgery and have swelling and bandages, the long straps are needed. But for me, the straps were way too long to attach properly until I shortened them. 4Best of the bunchI am coming out of a walking boot (broken foot bone) and my orthopedist suggested that I wean myself back into a regular shoe by using a post-op shoe part of the time. I have bought at least 4 of the other post-op shoes that are available here on Amazon and donated them (because these are medical items, they cannot be returned) all for one reason or another. Far too bulky, wouldn't tighten properly, etc... This one, and the one by Vive, are the only decent ones. However, I feel that this one is a hair better quality, and little more comfortable, than the Vive one.If you are looking for a good post-op shoe at a reasonable price, this is it. I wear a 7.5 or 8 shoe and the medium fits great, with just a little bit of room left over at the toe.Happy healing!! 5I bought this for a broken toe and I like it very much.I bought this for a broken toe and I like it very much.. However, I bought size large instead of medium (my shoe size is 8) and I'm glad I did because size medium would have been too small. Also the velcro on the strap which goes across my ankle is permanently sewn in place and not adjustable like the other two straps and it is far too loose for me even at the tightest position. I would still recommend this shoe cast, but go up a size. 5Amazon pulled a fast one on meAfter wearing a shoe from Amazon for several months for a stress fracture and the Velcro had worn, I checked to see which shoe it was I had so I could re-order the same one. So the one that popped up in my orders looked a little different on top, but figuring it would be the same internally, I ordered it again anyway. Turns out not to be the same shoe, and if I hadn't already -- overconfidently-- snipped the Velcro to fit, I'd have returned it. I have high arches, and the new shoe has arch support that consists of a bump under the heel of my foot. It is completely unwearable. It looks as if the shoe I originally ordered now comes in men' s sizes only. So I'm stuck walking around in the old she with the Velcro fastener constantly coming loose. I'm really disappointed in Amazon for making me think I was reordering the same product with perhaps only a superficial difference. 1I recommend this product.I got bunion surgery and for 4 weeks I wore a heavy duty boot that went up to my knee - which was covered by my health insurance. However the large boot was too hot and made my right calf smaller due to the restriction. I got this small boot because I've regained flexibility in my greater toe. I would not recommend someone to get this right off the bat from bunion surgery bc the bottom is not as stiff like the big/tall boot to prevent movement. Only get this if you're comfortable with your toe(s) being able to move just slightly with your normal walking. It will be a little higher up which is expected bc it's meant for protection so expect your walk to be uneven. My only complaint, which is very slight, is the ankle strap. It was longer due to my small ankles but I realized it was easy to remove the extra piece of rough sided Velcro from the strap and it was a perfect fit after that because the main ankle strap is mainly soft sided Velcro. Then on the actual boot is sewed in rough Velcro so I was able to strap it down nicely after removing the rough Velcro from the end of the ankle strap. It was super easy and took like 1 minute. This boot does get warm but it doesn't get as hot as my long tall boot! So I'm happy! Great price. Thanks. 5Worked great for me!I broke my toe toward the base of my foot and was advised by my Dr., to wear steel bottom shoes/heavy hiking boots with NO FLEX for 6 weeks or else he would have to order me an expensive medical boot.. Tried my clunky, hot hiking boots for a day and was desperate for another option. Luckily, I found this shoe on Amazon & it was a lifesaver. I have worn it comfortably now for about a month and my toe is SO much better. The fit was perfect and the straps are easily adjustable ty cutting off the excess straps to fit a narrow foot like mine. ( I wear a women's size 6-7. I order the small and I had a l/2" extra space at the toe.) And it's so affordable and durable. A lot cooler than a heavy hiking boot with these summer temperatures! I wore it with and without socks. My friends commented that it didn't even look that weird or noticeable. 5Works for me.I broke my little toe and the shoe given to me at the hospital made no sense, I couldn't walk in it at all. This shoe gives me the stability I need and the rocker bottom makes walking much easier. I ordered a second one because wearing just one created a problem with balance. No, they're not cute but I guess they aren't suppose to be, but at least I can walk comfortably. The problem is with the straps; they're too long and the way the ends are made, they can't be cut. 4
