My Seattle girlfriend had been using infrared sauna for several years with exceptional results. I didn't have $3,000.00 to spend so I bought four clamp lights and four RubyLux bulbs and Voila! I Sauna clamped on shelves over the toilet tank. Sprained wrist tendon pain gone in five, 15 minute treatments. Sciatic nerve pain over one year, GONE IN A WEEK. Lower back stiffness and pain GONE!! I will use this and recommend FOREVER. Bambi said the bulbs will last 2 YEARS PLUS AT THIRTY MINUTES PER DAY. I am using for 20 minutes.Carol Ann5Effectiveness Update - Still no lasting relief, but for almost a year now, this is the best solution so far.I have been treating the chronic pain in my wife's back for the past week now, and so far the relief obtained has been minimal. After having given her a total of 10 treatments (about 20 minutes each), she tells me that she now gets about 20 minutes of relief after the light is turned off. Now this does not seem like much relief and, in truth, it is not. But, if by chance this 20 minutes of relief after the week one, grows to 40 minutes of relief, then it is possible that we might have a winner here. So for now, I am giving this product three stars.... if by chance over the next few weeks her relief becomes more prolific, then I will commensurately change my rating.Update 2-8-2017This bulb is for sure a quality product. It produces a very steady heat which does bring soothing relief to all my wife's painfully chronic spots on her spine and in her neck. But so far, the relief is only temporary and the most relief she gets after a session is at most about 10 minutes. But we are still using the product religiously, every day, averaging about 40 minutes total per day.Now to be fair to this product, you should know that my wife's chronic pain condition is a perplexing issue of which no doctor has been able to satisfactorily address. We have seen surgeons, therapists, pain specialists, psychiatrists, psychologists and even acupuncturists. And to date no one has been able to prescribe a pill, an injection or a therapy that brings any relief whatsoever. The only thing that does anything is this RubyLux Bulb. And who knows, maybe if we continue to use this bulb, there will become a point in time where the enough damaged nerves may be healed so that my wife may experience some permanent relief.One additional note. I have used the bulb on myself for minors muscle injuries and foot pain and have, for myself, after short use, found the bulb to be an effective treatment.Update 9-25-2017My wife's overall chronic pain condition has not improved. In fact, after seeing more doctors and specialists, it appears that my wife's chronic pain is due to multiple causes, including heavy metal toxins of which the medical profession, from what I can tell, is unprepared to address at the the current time. Since my last update, I have bought an additional RubyLux bulb and now focus two bulbs at a time at the problematic areas. When the bulbs are on they are the only thing that brings any relief to my wife's pain. But still nothing lasts. Next week my wife will begin some far infrared sauna treatments at a local spa. She will be doing that in conjunction with continuing her treatments of the RubyLux bulbs. Stay tuned.On a side note, for those who are curions to know if the these bulbs last, one bulb I have been using for almost a year and the other for about about six months. There's 6 tumors, one wrapped around a blood vessel, pressing against the nerves behind my spine, causing tremendous pain. It's the kind of pain that's had me on opioids like morphine for 6 months going on 7. I finally got tired of the pain and went to "Hope4Cancer" clinic in Tijuana, Mexico for 1 month of treatment (I live in Texas btw). While I was there they had me do a Near Infrared Sauna session every other day. I noticed that their NIR Sauna was way hotter and more effective than mine at home. By hotter I mean it was like an instant furnace upon flipping the switch, and by more effective I mean I sweated waaaay more and I actually had a lot of pain relief within 5-7 minutes of each session. I've had a NIR Sauna for 2 years but haven't had the kind of pain relief that Hope4Cancer's sauna gave me. My sauna had x8 150-watt bulbs; Hope4Cancer had x6 250-watt bulbs. So while I was there I did some research on the best near infrared bulbs on Amazon and I ended up trusting RubyLux over all other brands. There are three statements by RubyLux that helped me make the decision to go with these bulbs: "emits NO far infrared rays[.] . . . free of toxic mercury, Teflon and fluorinated fumes[.] . . . [and] Each bulb is inspected, guaranteed and engineer-certified." I had to drop out of college to battle cancer 2.5 years ago so I forget how to correctly quote like that^ but I hope I did it right. So first impression is that RubyLux is specifically concerned about making sure we know that there is absolutely NO far infrared rays, which is very important for a cancer patient like me needing very specific treatment. The other two things (free of toxic stuff and each bulb inspected and certified) sealed the deal.When the bulbs came in I replaced 8 of my 150-watt bulbs with 5 RubyLux 250-watt bulbs. Let me tell you-- I was in awe when I turned on the sauna. It was an instant furnace just like at Hope4Cancer, but my sauna is a little smaller than theirs so mine gets even hotter, quicker! Normally I've been able to handle 30 minute sessions with x8 150-watt bulbs, but with x5 250-watt bulbs I was only able to tolerate 10 minutes on my first session. It took me 4 sessions to be able to work my way up to being in there for 20 minutes and really, I don't think I'm going to go up to 30 minutes again because I simply don't need to with how effective these bulbs are.I have pain starting in my spine around T1-T2 and then it branches out to the left into my left rhomboid and also wraps around my neck where I have other tumors that are swollen up. I'll give you an example of what happened this morning. I'm trying to taper off of Morphine but not able to do so as quick as I'd like because this morning I woke up in a lot of pain that I don't normally have, and I'm assuming it's because I dropped in dose of morphine. So anyway, I'm in a lot of pain and I go straight to my sauna at 6AM. I get in, meditate on Jesus and pray for Him to bless this treatment, and within 5 minutes I'm thanking Jesus for pain relief. I could feel a warm soothing sensation penetrating deep through my muscles and onto the tumors causing the pain. It's like I could feel the tumors relaxing and changing from screaming to humming (idk if that makes sense). Imagine (sound wise) going from banging on a desk to rubbing a desk. That's like what happened my neck/spine; it went from screaming to soothing. After 10 minutes I was just loving it; I really wish I could stay in there all day long because of how much pain relief I had. But of course, after 20 minutes I had to get out and shower, and now it's been 1.5 hours and I'm still having pain relief. Well, I took a morphine lol, but still I can feel the after effects of the sauna and the morphine doesn't cause this.So if anyone is battling cancer and needs pain relief, you have my recommendation (I'm a cancer patient in pain) for RubyLux.5Healing the Energetic BodyI bought a unit in 2005 it costs $350 but it was the red LED lights and infrared That unit went on the blink about two months ago and I did not want to pay the $350 so I started doing research and found this light. To compare this light to my unit there's about 260 more nanometers in this light than in the unit I purchased in 2005. All the experts say before you can get a deeper healing you need to have at least 800+ nano meters. Yes it's much much much much hotter than the unit I have. I started using it and I've used it about three times for 20 minutes. Every other day i've had incredible energy boost and I seem to feel hot for several hours after using the the light. I have a chronic illness. Which is digestive. I direct the light to my solar plexus.(digestive area) I have felt like my energy was been zapped this year of having this digestive situation, ulcerative colitis I've been dealing with this issue for 20 years now. Well that is wonderful and yes lights like this do work on many levels as far as healing is concerned. Energy for me is extremely much more valuable. I am in my 60s so the body has taken a hit in more ways than one from aging and health issues. I think I'm just very sensitive and noticed this change immediately. I'm going to buy three or four more lights and set up of sauna do it yourself here at home. I find my skin is kind of itchy two days later I don't know if I'm sitting too close I just eyeball 18 inches . i'm sure healing patterns are different in each person. iitchinesss isn't going to kill me. I will start adding coconut oil to my skin afterwards. Healing is learning process a path I have walked for a long time seeking all I could learn. I thank God for leading me here. I had been going to commercial infrared sauna but was concered with EMF (dirty electricity) leaching which is very common.Decided it was safer/better to set up my own, if you do some basic research you will find Near infrared best.I decided on RubyLux because of assurance of no lead/heavy metals leaching from bulb, which could be a problem.I distrust product made in China/India due to poor QC.Also RubyLux uses normal AC.Bought an additional setup for my daughter with Lyme.Great customer support and a small American companyI highly recommend RubyLux5The bulb that arrived was not manufactured by RubyLux. ...The bulb that arrived was not manufactured by RubyLux. It looked completely different from the one I ordered previously and did not have the RubyLux logo on it. The heat was less and the color was more of an orange. There is no return on this product, so I'm stuck with a red light bulb. In the pictures, the bulb on the left is the real bulb.1Loving it so farI have only been using this Infrared bulb since Sunday, but have been using it multiple times a day. So far, I am really liking the results that I am seeing. I have not used it to try and heal any pain so I can't speak to how it works for that, but I have been using it for my face. I have a few areas of hyperpigmentation on my left cheek that I can almost swear have lightened a great deal with 10 minutes 2 x a day. I am someone who absolutely loves instant gratification, so it is hard to win my praise this quickly on any beauty treatment. I was planning to have buyers remorse, but instead I am already contemplating 2 more bulbs so I can target multiple spots on my body at once.I did a lot of research on near infrared vs far infrared vs light therapy before deciding to give RubyLux NiR near infrared out. My bulb came delivered a little disheveled looking, but knowing (from reading on RubyLux's website) that these bulbs are actually just white light painted red, I didn't really mind that there were a few spots that the red was scraped off. It did look like my bulb had been used and returned and then sent to me, but the purchase was under $25 so I didn't really sweat it to much...definitely not enough to go through hassle of returning/exchanging. Near infrared light is actually white, but the bulbs are painted so that you can see the area of your body you are focusing light on. That said, if you see some of the red scraped off, it isn't that you received a defective light.You will need to purchase a 10-10.5 inch brooder clamp lamp--I purchased my at Home Depot for about $11 and it works great. You can also find them on Amazon for cheap although it looks like companies raised the price some based on what other reviewers said they paid in the past. Once plugged in, the bulb immediately becomes warm. I hold the lamp as close to my face as I can without it burning me or being uncomfortable and do about a 10 minute session max. For other body parts, I believe 20 minutes is good. This short 10 minutes has actually helped me to relax throughout the work day and wind down a bit. So it's certainly a relaxing and therapeutic thing to do if nothing else. It gives my face a warm glow once I'm done and as I mentioned before, I can almost swear my red pigmentation is lightening. Also, don't forget to use some sort of glasses or goggles when sitting under the bulb!Overall, I'm happy with this purchase so far and will continue to use my heat lamp religiously to see how it changes my skin over a period of a month. I will update review along the way with any progress. I would have to recommend this to anyone looking to up their beauty game or looking for a way to relax!5
