Delicious!This is really good tasting coffee, at a good price, too. It is a bold, medium roast, I am sure you will enjoy. One note about these K cups without the bottom plastic: yes, they are better for the environment and you probably get less plastic in your cup of coffee, too. However, I have noticed the stream of coffee that comes out of my Kueruig brewer when using this style of K cups is not direct. In other words, it tends to spray the coffee over a wider area, and the brewed coffee also comes into contact with the portion of my brewer underneath the K cup holder and drips off into my cup. This means, I have to clean my brewer pretty thoroughly in the cup holder area after each brew (just rinsing the removable cup holder is not enough). I have to run clear water through the removable cup holder on my brewer each time I brew to make sure I am not getting any old coffee or bacteria in my cup. Its more work, but worth it, to me. This is great coffee, and I highly recommend it.Amazon's pricing is stange on this particular style (the Rainforest Blend). It is most cost effective to buy it in lots of 72 K cups or 120 K cups. If you purchase the 80 count box, it will cost you almost twice as much! But that does not seem to always apply to the other blends of coffee (such as Fog Chaser). Sometimes they are comparably priced no matter what size box you purchase. Just keep an eye on the price per unit before you order this particular blend, or any of them, for that matter.I've tried both the San Francisco Bay Fog Chaser 80 Ct Box 46059 - K-cup Fog Chaser Coffee - Biodegradable K-cups and also the San Francisco Bay OneCup, Organic Rainforest Blend, 80 Single Serve Coffees (but not the 80 cup sizes, the 72 cup sizes as of right now is much less expensive). Both coffees are great. You should see which one you like the best, I highly recommend both.5This is the best coffee you can get for your Keurig brewerThis coffee has a deep, rich flavor that I have never tasted in ANY K-Cup. For years I have been buying from Green Mountain Coffee by subscription and was very satisfied with most of their coffees like Dark Magic and Breakfast Blend. But when a friend gave me a few of these San Francisco Bay K-Cups to try I was stunned. I had almost forgotten what really good coffee tastes like.Fog Chaser is bold and satisfying without a trace of bitterness. It tastes like a dark roast, but even though the flavor is strong, it has a taste that I can only describe as "round" - it has a complete and very, very pleasing coffee taste without that burnt flavor. I don't know how else to describe it.A word about these K-Cups. These are compostable IF you remove the lid and mesh filter which, I think, is made of Dacron. The plastic-looking rim is biodegradable just as many plastic shopping bags are today. Also, these must be stored in an airtight container since they are not sealed in a plastic shell like regular Keurig K-Cups. They are years ahead of Keurig who claims they will have recyclable/compostable K-Cups on the market by the year 2019. Why wait? The cups separate at the seal on top alot so far at least a 50% or more fail rate2. Cleaning the maker after the pod has a blow out.... very annoyingSide notes and conclusion...Good flavored coffee nice idea on the cup (less plastic good eco idea) problematic seal on top ruins all this offering has and renders it unacceptable for everyday use unless you like cleaning a volcano after every use... Not me.. until they get this fixed, I realize we don't live in a perfect world. I expect a few to not work that would be alright but the fail rate is to high so we called SFB coffee they did answer the phone and were professional acknowledging the problem unlike like most companies do and ignore the consumer with excuses and lies. Al-tho I appreciate this she (the one who answered the phone whom i will not name) said they would send a replacement and apologized but as of this review i have not received any said replacement and so ...two weeks later I probably will just give up on this company just not worth the hassle and go back to Copper Moon cups little more money but better taste no fail bliss is worth paying for3GREAT coffee GREAT price GREAT company.Simply put: great! I've ordered 3 or 4 times, and I'm about to try the Rain-forest blend next. I've been under-whelmed by many K-cups and the Green Mountain sample pack included in my Keurig didn't win me over.But SF Bay Fog chaser is another story. Wonderful roast and flavor. Leaves that delightful oil ring around your cup. Zero problems with leakage. Anyone complaining about a few tell tale coffee grounds needs to be reminded that it's coffee, not instant coffee. I drink black or with a spot of cream and it's got great body and taste. I'm a moderate snob; I find this particular roast to be "medium- bold" style, smooth and flavorful, with no acidic overtones. I favor Colombian coffee and this tastes very much like a South American blend- which works for me.I absolutely love the fact that the cups are eco friendly. I was given a Keurig Mini as a gift. I always hated the idea of the plastic K-waste and cost of K cups. With my long held stance, I almost sent the gift back for that reason. Highest praise to these folks for figuring out a greener solution. Everything about the packaging, and product tells you these guys truly care about their customers, the growers, and our Earth. They've won me over for life. And the price is wonderful!!I bought a fancier Keurig 2.0 as a gift for my sweetie and got her some of this coffee to get her started. The smart freedom clip thing is simply brilliant! Kudos to SF Bay Coffee for defeating the insane "greed feature" added in the 2.0 Keurig units.5Good flavor, price, and idea. Just needs work on the executionThe Organic Rainforest flavor isn't bad, pretty bold and flavorful. But you always get a silt like collection at the bottom of the cup that I don't see with other brands. You have to stir as you drink it or you'l have a major pop of silt with the last sip. This is rather annoying to me, I don't keep a spoon or stir stick with me while I drink my coffee and swishing the coffee in the cup can be a bit tricky until you're down to the last couple of sips, so I always end up with a rather thick layer of this silt.I don't recall seeing this when I bought beans from this company, so I guess this comes from their special packaging that's good for the environment and probably gets them out of royalties to Keurig, but it needs work. Please keep trying, because the flavor and price are right, plus I think getting rid of the excess plastic has to be a good thing.2Smooth earthy flavor and super fresh!I was reluctant to try an unofficial Keurig compatible product but finally bit the bullet and bought the Organic Rainforest Blend. And it's killer: smooth earthy flavor, moderately bold, delightful aroma and super fresh. And what a great deal at twenty-six shekels for 72 cups! Between Rainforest Blend, Java Love and Fog Chaser I ain't ever going back to those pricy plastic K-cups.The Rodgers cup--basically a paper filter with foil and paper top--is a little more messy than the rigid and durable K-cup: a few grinds in my cup but no biggie. I like that Rodger's uses a environmentally friendly design but it's mostly about the great taste and reasonable price. Well done!5OneCup Construction Good -- No spilled coffee "sludge" as described in other reviewsTo address the latest batch (As of Jan 2015), the K-cup construction works fairly well. I did not have any issues with coffee grains at the bottom of my mug or in a mess on my Keurig machine. But... they are definitely different than regular k-cups. The OneCups are made with a finely weaved cloth instead of the complete plastic enclosure you're used to, but they're built well enough now to keep everything in the cup and not in your drink. I'm guessing their design previously had an issue with the Keurig piercer that pokes a hole into the bottom of the cups, but with the new version there's no noticeable hole in the OneCups that would leak "sludge" into your drink.My one issue though is the overall packaging of the product. I'm used to k-cups arriving in a cardboard box with a perforated corner that can be ripped off to allow a sort of dispenser style of k-cups. However, the OneCups came in 4 plastic bags that smelled strongly of coffee (that can't be helped though since they don't use plastic to encapsulate the coffee).As for the coffee itself, it tastes fine and it's a great steal at the price.4Biodegradable K-Cups - Breakfast Blend.The breakfast blend tastes mild and may be weak for some. The K-Cup packaging is unusual. It is 97% biodegradable. What that means is, it is a K-Cup but without the plastic shell to seal the coffee. The top is the same as any other K-Cup but there is an open filter. To maintain freshness, they provided a plastic container with lid to store the cups. There are 6 bags with 12 cups in each. The bags are tightly sealed. My only complaint is the filter does let some grounds pass through. I have some grounds in my coffee cup and some in the Keurig. At nearly half the price of my usual brand, they are a bargain.Additional: One safety issue I have to mention. These are not your typical K-Cups, so when disposing of the K-Cup, remember you may come in direct contact with the hot filter pouch. Don't burn your finger tips like I did.4Better K-Cups! Organic Rainforest is too dark roasted for me.This was my first purchase of San Francisco Bay OneCup Coffee. They are very well designed. The two things I dislike about the Keurig system over the regular soft pods are the plastic and the higher price. These OneCups have very little plastic and a price comparable to soft pods.They work well in a Hamilton Beach FlexBrew http://www.amazon.com/Hamilton-Beach-49983A-FlexBrew-Coffeemaker/dp/B00IWOJSAY , as long as you doublecheck the puncture before brewing. Because they are softer than all-plastic K-cups, it take a bit firmer press on the lever of this coffeemaker.However, Organic Rainforest is not my favorite flavor. I usually drink a lighter roast like 8 O'Clock or Dunkin Donuts. Organic Rainforest is too dark roasted for me. I'm trying Breakfast Blend next, it's not as dark roasted.5Price is right and tastes great!K-cup coffee makers are all the rage, and for good reason. Each cup of coffee is full of flavor, fresh, and consistent. The price per cup is the only unfortunate part. Fear not my caffeine cohorts. San Francisco coffee provides you with more than a great cup of coffee. It's intelligent and responsible packaging is a bonus as well. It is almost entirely biodegradable, and the cost per cup is almost half of the other brands I've seen. Most importantly, the taste is great. I've had their regular flavored and the Fog Chaser. I didn't notice a real difference in taste, but I didn't taste them side-by-side either. Be sure to order these. The taste and the price are sure to get your heart beating!5
