Gave this as a gift to my parents and they said IT WAS THE BEST BOX OF CHOCOLATES EVER!!!I gave this box of See's candies to my parents as a gift because they love chocolate and they usually have a house full of chocolate - all different kinds!! They called and told me that this was the best box of chocolates that they had ever had and that is saying ALOT!! They even started looking around their town (Colorado Springs) to find out where they can buy See's candies.I knew See's had great boxed chocolates because our company's attorney had given us a box for Xmas - It was fantastic! You can't go wrong with See's assorted candies!5I love See's CandyI love See's Candy, but this order, which was a gift, arrived with a hole in the box, and half of the order appeared to have been eaten by a rat. Who knows where along the way this happened, but it was a shock to the recipient.1Chocolate Was Old. Amazon gave me a refundWe buy Sees every Christmas from Amazon. This package was not like the others. The chocolates were old with a white cloudy dust on them. When we opened them, a fine dust of brown crumbs coated the entire box too. The bottoms of each chocolate were white and cracked. The inside of the box wasn t pristine white, but stained with brown smudge marks. I can t serve these for the holidays. What a waste of money. What a disappointment. We tried to bite into two of them. They were hard and crunchy on the outside. We spit them out. :-(The photos don t capture all the fine Brown crumbs. Those ended up on our floor when we went to open the darn box. I took pictures of the chocolate and contacted Amazon, and they gave me a full refund. Thank goodness. I guess it was from some third-party seller.1Tried a piece once given to my family and they look like they aren't the freshest but don't taste oldI ordered one dark chocolate soft and 1 chocolate & Variety. I received 2 of the same thing.... Chocolate & Variety. I wanted the variety because it says you get divinity puffs. There were none in either box. Instead of divinity there were extra peanut chews which we don't eat. I paid 27.80 per box through this P.Coastal company as an amazon prime item. I won't ever do that again!!! I just looked on See's Candy's website and the same thing is 18.80. P. Coastal through Amazon Prime charged me for a custom box of chocolates and gave me the classic box. Since these were Valentine gifts I am not sending them back. Tried a piece once given to my family and they look like they aren't the freshest but don't taste old. I would not suggest anyone buy this candy on Amazon. Go directly to See's.com they have free shipping.1Chocolates Through AmazonLately I have been discussed with some of the products ordered through Amazon, the last order for See's Chocolates was the last straw. When we received them, they were not fit to eat, had to be last years inventory of chocolate with whiteness starting to form on their tops of them. Sent them back and order from See's direct and they were cheaper than Amazon without being a prime member. Goodby prime member ship.1The best chocolate!This stuff is so good!!!!!!!!! My parents brought me back some from CA when they visited there. It was so much better than any chocolates you can buy at the grocery store! I enjoyed the candies so much that my sweet wonderful husband surprised me for our anniversary later that same year by ordering me some through the actual See's company. It arrived with a cold gel pack to keep them looking and tasting great. It was such a wonderful treat! So...I ordered these off of amazon for a Christmas present for my In-laws. They arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and in a plastic mailing envelope. I assume that because of being shipped in December the person mailing these was not worried about melting. There was a large bright sticker on the package that says do not leave in direct sunlight. The actual box of candy was wrapped in Christmas See's paper so I do not want to open it to check the candies. Shaking the box gave a sound that was reassuring that all was well on the inside. If I do not come back and change this review assume the candies were fine and my In-laws were pleased.5PerfectI grew up with Sees Candy. My Gram worked for them in quality control. She would have been pleased with how well my candy looked when it arrived. Perfect!5Not tasty, smelled weird, whitenessjust not tasty and very slow delivery. i like godiva chocolates better. the white ness over everything was really strange and I don't know what that was related to as I've had See's Candies before. Never a problem1It was a 2lb box and a 1lb box, ...It was a 2lb box and a 1lb box, so the idea of gifting a 3lb box of chocolates, as suggested, is not gonna happen. Also, I believe these were a bit dated because they were dry and the chocolate coatings were very flaky.1Normally Excellent, but...I think See's Candy is one of the best in the country. I would compare it to Godiva. Ive ordered directly from the See's website several times. This was the first time I ordered through Amazon. I dont know if it is related, but when the package arrived it looked shopworn. The paper around the box was a white , Christmas wrap style which looked old.Once I opened the box, the candy looked and tasted old. In the future, I wont order through Amazon since the price isnt better than the See's website. I would buy Sees candy in the future, it's normally excellent.3
