  • SUGAR FREE: Instead of corn syrup or sugar our mints are made with 100% xylitol. Xylitol sweetener is derived from the fibrous parts of plants, similar in taste to regular organic sugar. We use no filler, flow agents or other sugar additives. Xylitol is a natural sugar that tastes just like real sugar and a great choice when looking for sweeteners and sugar alternatives.
  • GREAT TASTE: Our mints are flavored with all natural ingredients to create a great all natural flavor that is irresistible and ideal for getting rid of bad breath. Our Spry mints are a great breath freshener for the office, in the car, or to enjoy with friends.
  • BAD BREATH TREATMENT: Use daily after meals and between normal brushes. For best results use Spry Mints with Spry Toothpaste and Spry Oral Rinse for a fresh breath. Give your children Spry mints instead of sugar-sweetened mints. No need to tell them it is good for their teeth. Make our mints your go-to xylitol candy!
  • DENTIST RECOMENDED: Clinical studies have shown that the use of xylitol on a daily basis, may reduce the risk of tooth decay. My dentist recommended xylitol to keep our teeth healthy and so I ...My dentist recommended xylitol to keep our teeth healthy and so I ordered some of these mints. They have a cool, mild fruity flavor, and I'm not sure if it's coincidence, but the sensitivity I've been having has faded dramatically since I started using these a couple of weeks ago.5Excellent flavor, excellent dental care...I'm actually a Dental student. I started myself on Xylitol when I learned of the advantages during dental school. Xylitol is a natural sugar that is not fermentable by bacteria. What that means is that it does NOT promote caries (dental decay) and in fact, multiple studies show Xylitol to reduce bacterial levels. Research is being done to figure out what gives Xylitol it's seemingly bactericidal effect, but for now, studies indicate that it's effective at reducing oral bacterial load by 30-60% (YES THAT IS AN ENORMOUS PERCENT). Current studies are inconclusive in regards to any beneficial periodontal effect with respect to disease. However there is evidence of Xylitol promoting nasopharyngeal health. The user must have at least 6g of Xylitol dissolved in the mouth each day across multiple instances. That equates to 4 of these mints after each of your daily 3 meals. The Spry gums have 50% more Xylitol content so, 6-8gums/day, chew for 5 min or until no longer sweet.Note that this sugar is not used as a regular sweetener because having more than 20g/day may lead to diarrhea depending on your size/weight. Children should also have a reduced maximum load (they make Xylitol juices). Keep to ~6g/day max for children ages 3-10 to be safe (un-supported assumption). The berry flavor is just outstanding. I could replace popcorn during a movie with these (although not such a good idea to have either during an extended period). I've tried the lemon burst flavor too and it's not good. I could argue that the lemon burst flavor isn't even tolerable let alone good, and tastes rather acidic which would be bad for teeth...Other things to note: This is not a sugar like Stevia or some other cariostatic sugar. Stevia and sugars like it are good for diabetics and people with high caries risk because it's a natural sweetener that is not metabolized by the body and it's cariostatic effects. Cariostatic sugars do not kill bacteria. Xylitol actually reduces the presence of bacteria (bactericidal). If you have any questions, feel free to contact me: BForooghi@gmail.comUPDATE:It's been many years now. I'm still using Xylitol products personally and strongly recommending it to my patients to help treat a host of issues from cavities to sleep apnea and sinus/ear infections. It's really almost like a miracle when I snort the spray...Anyways, here's a recent response from a nameless poster which I feel was a good addition to the review:Xylitol is showing promise with ear and respiratory infections as well: Since xylitol inhibits the growth of bacteria, "research shows that this effect enables xylitol to help prevent bacteria and irritants from adhering to upper respiratory passages when used as a nasal wash. Studies have also shown that 8 grams of xylitol, taken orally every day, prevented about 40% of ear infections."For households that have pets, note that xylitol should always be kept away from all pets, as "it can be deadly to dogs and should not be fed to any pets".xylitol.org/faqs-questions-about-xylitol5They are tasty and it comes with a lotI wouldn't recommend this flavor (berryblast) for fresh breath but more as something to boost oral hygiene. I personally like the flavor and they are very refreshing for a short period of time. The fact that this product is all natural was the main motivation behind getting these and I am happy with my purchase. I look forward to trying the mint ones next.5Delightful "mints"These are "mints" not gum! Meaning that they are berry flavored hard candies not the gum I thought I ordered. Once I got past the disappointment of ordering the wrong product, I found that these "mints" are awesome. When you are on a sugar free diet but craving something sweet, these are wonderful. Be sure to look at the side effects of sugar alcohols. I find that these are not a problem if I only have one or two and the flavor is delightful!!5berry blast has a weird flavor and strong smell The taste left in my mouth by the berry blast spry mints is really gross. Also, once you tear the "tamper seal" off the tub, the unnatural, overly-sweet "berry blast" smell wafts through the room -- even when the lid is closed tight.I regret buying them.I once tried the regular mints and they seemed fine (no weird aftertaste), but I couldn't find them being sold by a non-sketchy seller on Amazon. 2Spry Berryblast Tastes Good But Doesn't Last LongI was looking for a xylitol candy or mint to help relieve dry mouth without causing cavities. Spry Berryblast does not have citric acid or other sugar alcohols besides xylitol. The lozenges are similar in shape and consistency to TicTacs but are larger with no mint taste, just fruit flavor. There is a hard shell covering the xylitol candy interior, which is a bit grainy in texture. They taste good but break down quickly which does not help to moisten your mouth. However if you are seeking a source of xylitol that does not have other harmful ingredients, this could be a good choice, as many other candies have citric acid or other sweeteners. This one also seems to be reasonably priced compared to other products. Each piece has half a gram of xylitol and is a little over 1 calorie. The general recommendation is 5-6 grams of xylitol per day, divided into at least 3 doses to prevent cavities. Ingesting more does not improve results and may result in digestive upset.4Ingredients aren't made clear...Very disappointed to find the ingredients are sourced from both USA & CHINA. China uses GMO corn to get their xylitol whereas the USA derives it from organic birch bark.2Good taste and good dental healthBecause of medications I take, my mouth has become extremely dry. My dentist has made several recommendations to save my dental health and keep the dryness from causing problems. One of the recommendations was Spry mints. Along with the rest of the regime I use the Spry mints daily. They are delicious and you wouldn't know that they help with mouth dryness - until you've finished one and suddenly, your mouth doesn't feel like a desert any more. I've been using these mints for almost three years now and I've gotten other people to try them, too. What more can you ask for? Something that tastes good and protects your mouth, too!5Contaminated with debrisRecently the Spry mints ordered from Amazon have been contaminated with debris near the bottom - from dust and hair, to what looked like dried ramen noodles. Terrible drop in quality; these don't seem safe or clean. Made in China; not sure whether that's a factor in Spry's quality control. This is a shame for a product that was well designed otherwise.1Ultra low cal, fights cavities, refreshes the mouth & recommended by the "Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye" dentist.I bought these because xylitol mints came highly recommended by Ellie Phillips DDS in her new book Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye: A Do-It-Yourself Mouth Care System for Healthy, Clean Gums and Teeth The key ingredient in her mouth care system is xylitol (a natural product sometimes known as wood sugar) which she says "could be the ultimate magic bullet for tooth decay, working with nature to change the chemistry and biology of a dentally dangerous mouth to bring it back to health in less than a year." She recommends "ending every meal, snack or drink with about one gram of xylitol: either coated on chewing gum, as a breath mint or eaten directly off a spoon."Since I'm not a gum chewer I decided to opt for mints and have so far tried two Spry flavors, "Berryblast" and "Power Peppermint." I like both, not just for the taste but even more for their calorie counts of just 1.2 per piece. As an added bonus, because they're sweeter tasting, I find nibbling a few pieces of "Berryblast" a great way to end meals on a sweet note without caving in to my lifelong cravings to end meals with dessert. The Peppermint flavor's plus is that it makes one's mouth feel really fresh and clean.I also recommend Dr. Phillips's book.Update 1/17/13: Since posting the above, I've also tried the "Lemonburst" flavor and find that it makes a VERY nice accompaniment to a cup of tea.5This was very nice..This was very nice....The Spry products are wonderful for preventing tooth decay and healing/maintaining gum health! But we& I just prefer the gum. However, if you prefer candy/mints to gum, this is your product. Using through out the day seems to really help keep the mouth bacteria free....our dentist wanted to know what we were doing!4Maybe It Helps...Having read of the benefits to dental health of xylitol, I switched to Spry mints. The Berryblast is good, but I personally prefer the taste of the Peppermint. As others have mentioned, due to stomach issues, I cannot have several a day, but two or three cause no issues at all. And I do not offer these to others in case they're sensitive to Xylitol. Wish the cost were a bit lower, but at just a couple or so each day, the container lasts a long time, and I don't take it for granted as I did with other mints. I had several empty Altoid tins (regular and mini) and transferred the Spry mints to those for ease of carrying in my bag or pocket. Will be trying other flavors in the future.4Good flavor, nice treat with NO ASPARTAME.Nice flavor, Consistent quality. NO ASPARTAME. Everybody has an opinion on Aspartame. My own experience: I'm a pretty even-tempered person, a business owner in my 50s. When I was drinking diet sodas with Aspartame, my emotions were like a scorned woman on a Lifetime movie. When I switched from sodas containing Aspartame to iced tea that I sweeten myself with Stevia, it made a world of difference. And no meds for me!My former sister-in-law said that when she used stuff with Aspartame, she couldn't speak a complete sentence without stopping to think. I observed that myself in talking to her. She got off that stuff and was fine. So I'm glad there are products like this without stuff in it that affects me adversely.5Tasty but pricey The mints are tasty, however, I expected the mints to last longer particularly for the price of these mints. For the record, I do not chew the mints as that defeats the purpose of this type of mint. For me, I cannot use a lot of the mints in one day as they produce too much gastric changes in my gut. I'm not sure that would be an issue with many people or not. If the mints lasted longer, I would consider purchasing them again. 3Tastes good, but doesn't hang around to do the job.I have to say I was disappointed in these. The taste wars good, but the mints themselves are so small that they're gone in 5 or 10 minutes. For a dry mouth product, I kind of expect the mint to hang around for about 30 minutes doing its moisturizing job. I've found a few products that work a lot better offered on Amazon, I'll just stick with those.2These are one of the few alternatives to other breath mints with a host of unhealthy ingredients! + GMO & Gluten Free:)I know people absolutely rave about these, but they are not particularly THAT great in my opinion, but are some of the very few a GMO &Gluten Free breath mints on the market, so WAY better than the alternative! Made by XLEAR INC. which always makes great & effective alternative products!3
