Great pain relief. Costs less than copay for useless prescription orthotics. With expensive prescription orthotics, I was barely able to hobble from my car to the grocery store handicap carts. I was in constant pain while walking. My podiatrist recommended Superfeet Copper, which he wears himself. The first day I used Superfeet Copper, the pain disappeared from the balls of my feet; the second day the heels stopped hurting; the third day the knees. The fourth day, my lower back, injured over 50 years ago, had much reduced pain. I am now able to walk around the grocery store without the handicap cart, and am looking forward to starting a walking exercise program. And the total cost was less than my copay for the pieces of trash the shoe store charged Medicare hundreds of dollars for. 5Coming apart after just 3 months of light to moderate useI at first didn t find these to be a huge improvement in comfort, but gradually they ve begun to feel noticeably better. Unfortunately, one of them is falling apart after just 3 months, despite only being worn for about 15-20 hours a week. To make matters considerably worse, I was shocked to find that this rather expensive (for what it is) product only has a 60 day warranty against defects! I would not have spent this much money on insoles had I known the manufacturer was only going to stand behind the product for such a brief period. 2Excellent product as I had suffered from Plantar fasciitisExcellent product as I had suffered from Plantar fasciitis. This particular brand was recommended by my orthopedic physician which he said to go and purchase from Amazon. I started doing more swimming and yoga and purchased new balance shoes as recommended and wearing to work for several weeks and then when I excise. I have been healed for several months now. 5Superfeet Copper Review - Love ThemFirst off, I love these things. They took what was once a rather squishy sloppy work shoe and turned them into what feels like perfectly molded boots. To achieve these results, you'll need to get the right size so here's a few tips. Read other reviews to confirm what I suggest. My foot size is an 11 men's, medium. That puts my foot on the high end of the size for an "E" which run 9.5-11.If your size is on the high side of the range, buy the next size up. It will still fit your foot but the arch won't be in the right spot. It'll be too short. In my experience, I bought size "E" first. Sure, it goes up to size 11 but what happens is the arch is pushed back towards your heel. It's not long enough. Then I bought size "F" which runs 11.5 -13. I removed the existing insole from my boot/shoe, placed it on top of the Superfeet insole, traced around and cut the excess off. The arch was now where it was supposed to be.Side note, I mentioned above that my foot is medium. I meant medium height for my arch. If you don't know how to figure that out, search a few Youtube videos or google it. They'll show you how to get a rough idea. Basically get your foot wet, step on some concrete or cardboard or something that captures your foot print and compare to some reference charts which are normally in the videos. Arch support companies are advertising their products on Youtube and several have links to figure this out.I love these things and now own 2 pairs. I used them in my heavier work boots and after being on them all day long, my feet are not sore or tired. 5Hey, they work!I am an active walker but had to drastically cut back due to plantar fasciitis in one or sometimes both feet semi-regularly. Yep, my fault due to impatience and not properly stretching, plus my shoes were getting a bit worn.My wife (an M.D. herself) advised me to see a physician to have custom inserts made - as she had done, PLUS do the damn proper stretches, hard head!! P/F is very painful and not walking wasn t an option. What to do? I didn t really think that I needed to see a doctor, but the pain from my last bout of P/F flared up pretty bad and just wouldn t go away after over a month ... my feet really hurt, all the freaking time!Long story short, I bought new shoes (New Balance 1080 Fresh Foam) and I happened to run across these highly-recommended Copper inserts. I have to say that my pain started dissipating almost immediately. Truth! As one reviewer said, his physician had said that managing P/F isn t about cushion, per se, it s about SUPPORT. These do that plus my fresh pair of shoes, PLUS stretching before every walk, have really, really helped. My wife saw these and said, Heck, they feel like and are built like my custom orthotics! Again - support is the key, not raw cushioning. My next step would definitely have been the ortho doctor. The physician route is of course the best for healing ... if necessary, but these things plus good shoes, plus proper stretching (yeah, it s a hassle, but not walking due to pain isn't an acceptable alternative), may keep you out of his or her office as they appear to be doing for me. Good luck! 5Great Inserts With A Few ModificationsThese inserts, in my opinion, are more designed for people that aren't going to do an exuberant amount of walking. More like people that have serious foot issues.But...With a few modifications, these shoe inserts are fantastic. Most inserts have a lot of gel or squishy material, and you would think that would give you a nice comfortable insert, but that isn't always the case. These inserts contour to the foot nicely, and feel like a custom made insert. I prefer just a dash of arch support, but not a lot of arch support. The fabric material on the top is very durable and of high quality. The plastic cup holding the shape of the insert works really well for comfort. One thing that they could do, in my opinion, is add about another 1/16" of memory foam cushion for a little added comfort, but the amount they have on it is adequate.I highly recommend that if you do a lot of walking, that you do some custom modifications. Leaving the tips of the plastic parts around the heel gave me little blisters on the side of my heel. On the side of my heel! I highly recommend rounding those off.Secondly, I would punch, not drill, some holes on the front part of the insert because moisture will build up underneath. Your shoes will begin to smell and perhaps even mold if not addressed soon enough. I would imagine less holes than what I punched out would work, but I use these inserts all day at work.Good inserts overall. My feet don't hurt at all after a long day of constant walking. Fatigue sets in way before my feet are wore out. Love these things! 5Highly recommend for industrial concrete floorsOk, I've had these for 3 months now so I feel I can give an accurate review.First my working conditions. I work on concrete floors for 12 hours a day. I work 4 days on and 3 days off then 3 on and 4 off. I have a very physical job. I do a lot of walking, climbing ladders, and heavy lifting. My foot pain was to the point that I was ready to quit my job. My feet no longer recovered between days off and returning to work. I had sharp pain in the middle of the foot. It was as if there was a small lump there that would occasionally give very sharp pain. My feet always felt very tight the first few steps when getting up. I always noticed the pain as soon as I switched into my work shoes (Timberland Pro Steel Toe Low Cut).It was bad. No amount of massaging or stretching made a difference. I tried every insole you can get at the local department store. Nothing gave more than a couple weeks relief.Since I bought these the pain in my feet have returned to zero. The tightness and sharp pains are gone. Thank goodness!A few things to keep in mind. While my pain did reduce right away after using these it did take a while for my feet to heal completely.I have read reviews about the placement of the "arch support" being too close to the heal. Honestly with the coppers it is very slight. While I did initially notice the placement felt a little different it wasn't bothersome. After a couple weeks it felt completely normal. Also, don't expect spongy or cushiony from these. They are more firm and give the proper support. I think cushiony and spongy insoles give the illusion of making you feel better but overtime just wear out and give no support. While my feet do still get tired, in my opinion it is to be expected when being on your feet for 12 hours a day on concrete, my feet do recover overnight and I no longer experience any sharp pains.I think they do alter your gait a bit. I think this because the first week my hips knees and ankles experienced some pain. I think it was because my muscles had to adjust to the change in my gait.In conclusion, they worked great for me and have no problem recommending them. 5It hurt my knees! These insoles were not for me. Normally, I don't have any problems with knee pain. They forced my foot into an unnatural position causing muscle cramps behind my knees during the night and as I woke up in the morning. As soon as I stopped using the insoles, the pain went away. Also, the insoles made my shoes fit tighter pushing my toes up against the front of certain footwear. If I hadn't had the knee problem, I might have tried buying the next size up in shoes to see if that would help but had to return them for obvious reasons. 1Experienced a break in period, but final assessment is these are phenomenalThis is an edited review: I'd originally rated these lower because, in my early assessment, the arch "hump" was about 1" too far forward from where my arch actually is on my foot. I was going to send them back, however, despite feeling odd on my feet, I started noticing my knees felt great after playing hours of tennis with these inserts. So I gave them a while longer and, eventually, they broke in to a point where both my feet and knees felt great. My first pair lasted a really long time, at least 8-10 months of intense play. I just put a new pair into a brand new pair of shoes and don't feel the initial break in period at all this time around. I guess my feet just needed to get used to having proper support, which they didn't have before. This is a premium product that has benefited me a great deal on the tennis court. 5MEH FOR THE PRICEI've used a lot of OTC insoles over the years & I really am not impressed at all with these. The only difference between these & Dr. Scholl's is Dr. Scholl's are cushy. These are hard as a rock. Another thing I was surprised about is that there aren't any cutting guides on the insoles. Not very convenient. I wouldn't buy again. They're very HARD & make your feet stink. Never had that before! Don't throw your money away on these. 1
