Customer Reviews

A great mixing tea...So the word on the street says "hibiscus is even more antioxidant rich than green tea". Well that might be so but this is an awesome tea for mixing with others. The tartness of this tea added to the slight bitterness or sweetness of other tea's really balance the flavor profiles out. For my kids I mix this with The Tao of Tea, Spearmint Herbal Tea, Loose Leaf, 2 Ounce Tin. For my wife and myself I mix this with The Tao of Tea, Sencha Green Tea, Loose Leaf, 3.5 Ounce Tin. Also, I will just enjoy this tea by itself. Sometimes I add a little honey to balance out the tartness (like 1/2 a tsp).Hibiscus/Spearmint Blend: Use a thermometer and get your water to 185-190 degrees F, then add one tsp of each tea ( 1 to 1 ratio ) to 16oz of water. Now let it brew for a good 5 minutes. You can mix and match temps and times.Hibiscus/Sencha Blend: Use themometer and your water to 180 degrees F, then add one tsp of each tea ( 1 to 1 ratio ) to 12oz of water. Let BREW FOR 3 MINUTES. You don't want to over brew the sencha. I've already added the hibiscus for two minutes and then added the sencha for another 2-3. You just have to experiment with times and temps and you'll figure out what works best for you. This really is a cheaper alternative than bagged tea's and store bought tea's already brewed. If you're in a hurry and don't have much time a nice french press works great. Also you could use a tea strainer like this one Teablee Tea Infuser Strainer Steeper Extra-fine Mesh with Lid for Infusing Loose Leaf Teas I only use this strainer for small batches of tea's though. You want to loose leaf tea's to be able to open up and brew to get the most out of them. Happy Tea brewing!5Great taste - can use for a delicious iced tea in the summerGreat summer tea. I prefer to drink this as an iced tea rather than hot. I drink a lot of other hot teas daily, so it's nice to find one that I can use for iced tea. I brew it a bit strong with generous amounts of honey. Sometimes, I'll add green tea jasmine pearls to the brew. Then, I let the cup cool down just a bit and then pour the tea into a large cup with lots of ice + squeezed lemon slices. I'm sure it tastes nice when plain, but I thought I would just share how I like to drink it in the warmer seasons.5Excellent tea! Great hot or iced. This tea is really good ! And a little bit goes a long way, having a strong hibiscus flavor. I can't taste the ginger in it quite as much, but it probably adds to the tang to the hibiscus.I love the dark pink color and the flavor. It's great for making iced tea as well as a hot tea. It's even good if you want to experiment with adding other tea flavors, perhaps maybe mint or lemon, or even other fruitful flavors. I have used it mixed with green tea, which adds color and flavor to the usual boring green tea. This tea by itself has a little tartness but it retains a little bit of sweetness, having a berry flavor.5I love hibiscus. It is my favorite flavor of anythingI love hibiscus. It is my favorite flavor of anything. Ginger is also a favorite of mine, so the combination of them both is heavenly. I tend to infuse it a bit longer than the directions say to, but I like a strong, bold hibiscus flavor. However, if you follow the instructions, you can easily get two or three steeps out of one batch without a noticeable decline in flavor. I have also combined this tea with a black tea in the morning and that combination is wonderful. This tea truly has a featured spot in my collection.5Great tea!My wife and I love this tea. We personally do not taste any bitterness. Maybe some taste buds are different than others or their water was too hot which caused it to taste bitter. I have an Asian instant cold/hot water machine, so I don't know my temperature, but it's perfect. I make this tea quite stout and it's great! But I also like strong green tea, which some people cannot stand. This has a great taste. It's refreshing and a little goes a long way. My wife and I drink it daily. I look forward to buying more in the future!!5I was still pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the taste of this teaWhile I am using this for blood pressure reasons, and I am not sure whether or not it is helping, I was still pleasantly surprised at how much I liked the taste of this tea. Ginger, when I add it to hibiscus tea (whether through a tea bag or actual ginger) tends to overpower the flavor of the tea. However, in this tea, it instead is a nice complement to the flavor of the tea.....It is there, but not too overpowering.4Delicious TeaIt's a delicious tea with deep hibiscus flavor. It's nice with honey. I personally don't taste the ginger, but I'm used to spicy ginger tea. I can steep the same tea leaves 2-3 times. I like it, I'd buy it again.5But this tea is pretty good. I have an infuser water bottle that ...I'm new to loose leaf tea so I don't have too much experience to compare this to... But this tea is pretty good. I have an infuser water bottle that I put this tea into, so I drink it cold without steeping it in hot water first. I gave away 2 stars because if I don't use a little bit, it gets too bitter for my taste and too over powering. I do like bitter tasting things (I'm a recovering redbull addict), so it's not like I can't do bitter, but this can be too much if you don't be conservative with how much you put in the infuser. I can only imagine how it tastes when steeped with hot water....3Great Herbal Healthy Tea from a reliable American Vendor in the Great State of Oregon! This is very good, healthy, herbal tea.Well done, hand mixed, and delicious.American product, keep it in the refrigerator.Excellent when added to the brew-basket of good Arabica, Colombian Coffee in your coffee maker [e.g: 1/2 teaspoon of herbal tea in with 4 rounded teaspoons of good coffee for five cups of great coffee].Check health benefits of Hibiscus!Ordered one, drank it daily, on our second tin, expect to order more as needed.5Tasty and tangy (and VERY TART if you don't follow prep instructions ;})Sooooo... I was used to using 2 tablespoons of dried tea to make my existing tea (nettle & ginger, for instance) in a 20 oz mug. I used ONE tbsp of this hibiscus tea with a tablespoon of my nettle/ginger.REALLY BAD IDEA.I had such a tart, concentrated brew that I was able to stretch it out over at least four more cups.Duh.When made properly though, this is great. My mother, whom it was for, LOVED IT. She was so excited... now she's "addicted to TEA!" (Her emphasis. lol.)I didn't get this for the taste, though. (Although it's one of the reasons.) I got it for the health benefits: lowers high blood pressure and cholesterol, protects the liver, calming for the mind, and cooling for the body. All great things for my 60+ mother. The presentation is absolutely lovely. Sophisticated and elegant. The tea itself had a deep, rich hue. Wish it cost a little less, but it's not prohibitively expensive... again, if you follow the prep instructions. ;}I would recommend this.5
