Excellent Ergo Arm SlingMy husband broke his right elbow and his left wrist. We were given a sling after his surgery as we left the hospital but the neck strap was tearing up his neck. It was so uncomfortable. Amazon to the rescue! I bought this sling after reading the reviews. Several people remarked about the soft strap not bothering their necks and that was what I wanted. It arrived asap and was perfect. We got the black and white one and it fit perfectly. My hubby is 6'4 and 210 pounds and we had no issues with the "size". We got compliments on it at the ortho doctor's office because it looked so comfortable. My hubby is still using it and liking it. I would have no hesitation on suggesting this to anyone who needs a sling. 5Dropped my arm half a dozen times in one day. Dangerous.Comes loose and sends arm swinging, risking further injury. Worked okay for the first few days. Then the hook and loop fastener was no longer reliable and would unexpectedly come loose minutes after being tightly reapplied. 1Simple but Effective - Great DesignLove this arm sling. Had shoulder surgery and was sent home with a flimsy arm sling with multiple straps. Ordered this immediately thinking I would only wear it while showering. Instead, I've used it daily. It is extremely simple yet highly effective. Unlike the hospital issued sling, this sling has a loop for the thumb which will prevent your hand from falling out of the sling if you've had a nerve block and have no feeling in your arm. I do think they run a bit small. If you're debating between sizes, go with the larger size. The fabric breathes and is super light weight. It's black/white mesh looks discrete when wearing in a professional office setting. Don't be surprised when it shows up in a tiny box - it works well. 5This sling fit me perfect. It will adjust down much smaller tooI'm a big guy at 6'0" and 240 pounds. I wear 3x t-shirts. This sling fit me perfect. It will adjust down much smaller too. So unless your a 4x or 5x chest size should work fine. Was much better than the sling I got from orthopedics for shoulder surgery in quality too. Once I put it on it stayed in proper position. 5A perfect investment in sling comfort!I recently needed an arm sling after a shoulder surgery. The basic one the hospital provides is not comfortable and/or useful. I purchased this sling and was amazed at the difference. Nice strong support, a soft adjustable shoulder strap and a good sized arm cuf to support the arm and shoulder. So glad I made this investment, it made 5 weeks in the harness much more comfortable. Thanks for the great product! 5Perfect Sling for Rotator Cuff Surgery alternative, on hot days, and for showers!This was exactly what I needed. I had rotator cuff surgery a couple of weeks ago. The sling I received from my clinic is bulky and hot. This sling is a mesh material. It feels nice and cool to wear, and is made from light weight bu sturdy materials. The Velcro closure works great, even when wet! I use this sling around the house, when I just don't want all that bulk from my other sling. I also use it when I shower, it is just perfect for that! I hang it over my shower chair afterwards and it is dry in less then an hour. I am so grateful to have found this inexpensive solution to the problems I was having with my other sling. Thank you for making a quality product that does not break the bank! 5Nice features but too smallI hate doing this mildly negative review because there is a lot to like about this sling. The mesh is cooler and the strap is soft and nice design with material lapped over the edges to avoid velcro digging into your neck. My issue (for return if possible) is the small size of this sling compared to the doctor issued economy sling. To back that up, I've included a picture with the new sling overlaid on the black doctor issue sling. As you can see from length and depth it is much smaller. I'm 6', 220lb, wear a 16.5/36" shirt and sling is nearly filled with my arm. What hurts is that my hand extends fully out of the sling so weight ends up on my wrist and not my arm. Also for me the strap could be longer. Consequently, I dinged the sling for poor size information and using a model that is clearly closer to 5'6" than 6' leading me to buy something that I really can't use. For people that are smaller, this is a good product but not for anyone at the larger end of the use range. 4Large, comfortable, strongI'm 6'2" and 275 pounds. This large sling is plenty big enough and strong enough to comfortably immobilize an arm / shoulder for someone my size and larger. Easy to put on and adjust. I have no idea how one person said the sling "dropped" their arm. If ever the velcro were ever to get weak from laundering or repeated use/abuse one could just use a safety pin to make sure it stayed at the adjusted size. 5BEST OFFERED BY AMAZONYou never know how difficult life can be until you lose the use of your arm. So, a good sling makes all the difference. I tried 6 other slings offered by Amazon; but this one is the best because:PROS:1. soft fabric (everything already hurts enough already without putting your arm in a scratchy sling)2. breathable fabric (since I live in a hot climate this is going to be essential in the coming months)3. washable (I threw this in the wash in a load of cold, hung it on a hangar for 2 hours, and it looked and smelled fresh, clean, and bright)4. fits well (I don't have a cast, so I don't know if it would fit over one, but am 5'6" 155lbs and it fits perfectly)5. could work for either arm (I'm using it on my right, but other than the velcro strap tightening on the inside instead of the outside, this would work on my left)6. velcro strap has protective edges (THIS IS WHERE THE ERGO ARM SLING IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN ALL THE REST!!!!!! ALL the other slings I tried leave the raw edge of velcro exposed, and it rubbs a raw spot on your shoulder/neck/chest. This sling has an edge of fabric stitched around the velcro so it never touches your bare skin.)7. no buckles (many of the others have a buckle for fastening in the mid-chest range. the buckle of each of the other slings rubbed a sore spot on my chest within 45 minutes, even through clothing)8. easily adjustable (simply pull the strap backwards over your head and it tightens)9. good sizing (this sling fits me almost like the male in the picture, and I'm a smaller female)10. thumb straps (it comes with 2 thumb straps which prevent the sling from twisting backwards, leaving your hand exposed)11. easy to put on (I just open the sling out on a counter. rest my arm in the opening, and then pull the strap to tighten)CONS:The velcro itself has the shortest nap of any of the other slings. This means it doesn't stick together quite as well; but it stays nicely in place. I'm just concerned that over time, and with frequent washing, it may quit holding firmly in place. 5Very easy to useI'm a petite woman who finds the one size fits all is always too cumbersome. This sling is exactly what I needed. I find that once adjusted, I was able to get in and out of it by myself. Had surgery so I know I will be in the sling for another 4 weeks. It is comfortable enough to wear in bed. 5
