New formula, better taste? They ruined it!I fell in love with this Coconut Coffee when I tried it at Costco. It was simple ingredients and amazing taste. Costco stopped carrying it and starting ordering from Amazon. I would go through a couple 19 oz jars a month. The coconut made it delicious and I believe the the corn starch is what made it so creamy. The mix would get a little lumpy by the end of the jar. I think the corn starch absorbed water. But I didn't care, it was so delicious. My new order had "New formula, Better taste" on the jar. I looked at the ingredients. Modified food starch! Tricalcium phosphate! I served up a cup. Now, you can hardly taste the coconut. And the creaminess is gone thanks to the Modified food starch junk. This product is ruined. Not to mention, they jacked the price up to almost $15. they ruined the formula and jacked up the price. Now you put this with the rest of the processed garbage at the grocery store. You had a customer for life. Now you lost a customer for life. Good luck finding a new one. Corporate greed wins again. 1Yummy!!(from 2016 or earlier): I got hooked on this product when it was available at Costco! It is no longer carried there, however, so now the only place I can find it is here on Amazon. However, the price has increased significantly! I now consider it an indulgence, and only order it every now and then. If the price were to go down, I would make it part of my daily regimen and re-order it regularly....When I used to drink it daily, one canister would last about two weeks. If it were more affordable, I would give it the full five stars. It is that good.UPDATED REVIEW (A Year or Two Later in mid-2018): I am a huge fan of this coffee, and got hooked when it was available at Costco a couple years back for 10 bucks or less. When they stop carrying it, like many other fans, I went to Amazon. The price had jumped up to about 20 bucks or more a canister!! I stopped ordering it due to the excessive price, and decided to find a new coffee. Here I am, a couple years later, trying it again since it is now down to $12 a canister on Amazon. Here are the changes that I have noticed in the most recent reviews: the ingredients contain milk protein and is no longer Vegan, and the directions for a regular cup of coffee includes the added 2 ounces of milk from your own refrigerator. As I remember, the original product only required hot water and the powdered mix. That was it. Now you have to add 2 ounces of fresh milk. I followed the new instructions exactly, and the result was a very small cup of coffee (see photos for finished product and new ingredients / directions label). In the end, I think it tasted just as good as I remember. It s just not quite as simple because you have to add fresh milk. However, I would buy it again if the price stays low like this. The only thing that tastes slightly off is the coffee seems a little more bittee than I remember. But, the rest of the flavor makes up for it, and I still think it s just as good. 4Best Coconut CoffeeI have been looking for a coffee that my stomach could handle and know finally found it after looking for 7 years of searching. This coffee 's amazing in every way. It taste great, smells great and it does give you energy. I usually need two cups of coffee to keep me going all day but one cup is perfect for half of a day. This coffee is wonderful and I have already recommend it to friends and family and most of them say it's the best coffee they have ever tried. 5Mmmmm smoothLove the smooth taste but hate the fluctuating price. Must try if you are a coconut coinisuire .... Also great if you are pregnant and trying to stay away from you early morning espresso shots.Unless you're rich you'll go bankrupt or cancel you children's after school activities because this stuff goes by fast. You need 2 heaping tablespoons per 8oz serving. That goes by quick. 5Don't Buy Into Hype or Old ScienceThis stuff is delicious, and while I wish the coffee flavor was a little bit stronger, I can always add some extra coffee to the mix if I really need it. The main reason I love this coffee is that it's more than a cup full of caffeine to give me an artificial buzz and then drop me like a rock halfway through the day. It's funny to see these one star reviews with people going on about how terribly unhealthy this coffee is, not realizing how loudly they're broadcasting their adherence to outdated information. Minimally processed cane sugar does not have the same negative effects on the body that more refined sugars have, and when paired with the naturally occurring saturated fats in coconut you have a source of pretty clean energy for you body that'll last a lot longer than any coffee/creamer combo, and certainly be healthier than most. If you want to enhance the effects, you can "clean up" the coffee even more by adding anywhere from a teaspoon to a table spoon of coconut oil to it. The brain loves this kind of nourishment and will thank you for it all day.I'm no fan of weight loss gimmicks, and any unqualified claim that this product will help you lose weight is either ignorant or misleading. It CAN help you lose weight, but it does that by giving you energy and feeding your brain and helping you better fight junk food cravings, not by having any kind of magical effect on your metabolism. Which isn't to say that such a thing is impossible; every body is different, and it might do something magical for a lucky few, but this is no miracle weight loss product for the masses. Just something that both tastes good AND can feed your body in some really positive ways. Personally, I drink it along with a high fat, high protein breakfast (usually something like eggs scrambled in coconut oil with goat cheese thrown in) the combination of which keeps me energized and my stomach satisfied for more that half the day, which is something I'd never experienced before (I have a very physically demanding job and was generally eating three larger meals and two small meals a day). And yes, I was drinking normal, although organic, coffee (with almond milk and honey added) before with the same healthy breakfast, and without the same effect.In summary: fat and sugar do not necessarily equal bad, and coconut and "natural" do not necessarily mean good. We're all different and don't all require the same vehicles for delivering nutrition to our bodies, but this coconut coffee serves some of us very well, and it might work for you too. 4Prices are up and quality declinedI cannot believe your new very high prices. Also, my product now arrives clumpy (been putting marshmallows inside it to deal with the problem). If you raise your prices, raise the quality of your product. You don't keep faithful customers by raising prices and lowering your standards. I was such a faithful customer; even gave your product as a gift in Europe. You have disappointed me; I definitely believed in this product. Rating based on consistency of the product. 1Use to be so good but now....they have weakened the formulaI was going to give this 5 stars but they have definitely changed the product by skimping on the ingredients! I thought maybe I had a bad batch. I haven't bought another to see if it's a regular thing now or a one off issue. I still had some from a prior batch and when I look at the two side by side, the new batch is actually white with specs of brown. The old batch is brown with specs of white...definitely less coffee in the new batch and I can taste the difference. So, I'm glad it's not just me. I don't know why companies cheap out like this. They have ruined a perfectly good product by skimping on the coffee ingredients but not lowing the price at all. Don't know if I will buy again after being a loyal customer for over a year. Bring back the old version with more coffee otherwise you will lose more customers. I would have rated it a 1 because of this but giving it 3 Stars because of how it USED to be! If I buy another batch and it's still this white clump of mess I will give it 1 star and never buy it again and stop referring it to my friends and colleagues. Bring back the old formula!!! First pic is the original version, 2nd is the new version. 3I really like this coffeeI really like this coffee. It is sweet and pretty creamy. If you like the flavor of coconut you will definitely like this. Its not a strong coffee taste. It is more of a coffee with your coconut, sweet flavor. I have not had any issues as mentioned by others with a film or oily feel in my mouth (and I am pretty particular on that). If you want a real strong coffee flavor this is not it, but if you are just looking for a creamy coconut/coffee flavored hot drink, this one is great! I like that I feel good after I drink it as well, because it is not processed sugars and I get the healthy fats from the coconut. 5Works as coffee substitute for me.I first tried using CAcafe as my morning caffeine fix after finding that regular coffee aggravates my gastric reflux. I had also read about some health benefits of coconut consumption, so thought it might be a double benefit. I began purchasing it at Costco, and quickly became addicted. When Costco stopped carrying it, I was relieved to find it on Amazon. CAcafe has a mixture of coconut, cane sugar, Columbian coffee, maltodextrin, and starch--in that order. I find it to be tasty, sweet, and sufficiently coffee-like to satisfy me and avoid a caffeine crash headache. Coffee drinkers who do not ordinarily use a sweetener will find it too sweet, but it works for me. My only wish is that it was also available with STEVIA as the sweetener--or even with NO sweetener included--instead of cane sugar, as the two heaping teaspoons required (I need a little extra for my travel mug) bring it up to 170 calories! 4Great as a coffee CREAMER, expensive as "coffee" alone.First off, I LOVE the taste ... But even at 9.95 when I was getting it at Costco these containers were expensive ... At the Amazon price? OUCH. Adding some to your coffee as a creamer gives it a rich robust taste, but to have it as a coffee alone? It takes SEVERAL scoops if you want decent flavor, and that adds up $$$. Maybe if I had a daily Starbucks habit this would seem less overpriced, but unless you've got money to burn or specifically need this for dietary reasons, stick with powdered coconut oil and collagen in your coffee. Cheaper, less sugar, and healthier for you. 4
