Great matcha !!Very pleasant tasting and smoother than other matcha powders I have used in the past. I enjoy having matcha tea in the morning instead of coffee. This particular blend seems of higher quality than the previous brands I have used. With a bamboo whisk it seems to froth up about the same amount, maybe just a tad less than others, but the taste is what I buy it for and it is a winner. When I initially saw the price was under 25$ for 100g, I was very skeptical about the quality. The reviews that were already available addressed this specific concern, however, so I took the leap.I usually don't bother making the tea, and I simply consume the powder in capsules. When I do make the tea, I am never disappointed. It has the perfectly-prepared bright green appearance and fresh flavour that you should expect from traditional matcha. It's wondrous with a bit of cream!The seller I purchased from, MORIHAN / KYOEISEICHA CO.,LTD, is just as wonderful as the tea. The people I spoke to were incredibly helpful and friendly, and I will certainly be buying from them again.5Great matcha!I've tasted matcha over half a century in different settings (traditional tea ceremonies and more), and this is excellent for the price. I often sprinkle it over vanilla ice cream, and it tastes divine.5Best economy priced Matcha! How you make it changes the tasteThis is the best economy priced matcha you can buy and my tea master teacher agrees. Matcha must come from Japan because of how its grown/processed. Poor quality matcha has dull green or brownish color and a bitter fishy or seaweed taste so stay away from them!This Morihan matcha is called "okeiko-yo" which means "for practicing", but the quality is absolutely there. I have been drinking Matcha for over 30years, and have tried several different types of economy price matcha, but this is the best one.Here are some hints on how to make good matcha:-Go easy on amount of matcha! You need approx 1/2 teaspoon for 1 cup of matcha (called "usu-cha") If you like it really strong, you use 1 teaspoon - (called "koi-cha"). You can use even less if you are having a hard time with taste. Its still super good for your health!-Dont use boiling hot water; easiest way to let it cool is to put hot water in a mug first, then pour that into your cup with matcha (or just add cold water to the hot water to bring temp down). It should be at a temperature where you can gulp it down.-Add little water first to make a paste (looks like melted chocolate) before you pour all your hot water in (helps lessen clumping and improves taste).-Matcha is hardly bitter, so if it is too bitter, you are either using poor quality matcha, water too hot, or too much matcha powder.-If you make it properly, the matcha tea actually tastes creamy so if you can, avoid putting in dairy milk in; the milk binds to the catechin and lessens it. Sugar is okay. almond/coconut milk is okay.- You can make iced matcha tea as well. Just do the "making paste" step so you don't have clumps of matcha floating around.- I tried electric whisks, shakers, etc, but the bamboo whisk really is the easiest,best,fastest way to mix matcha. Use your elbow (not your wrist) to whisk. up/down/sideways movement; not circular. If you want to be anal, you can soak your bamboo whisk in water for 15min to make it more pliable.Hopes this helps!5Product expires next monthThink carefully before placing the order.
