I'm a pretty serious runnerI'm a big fan of Vega Sports. I'm a pretty serious runner, do yoga and study Kung Fu. Lately, I've been cramping up after my kung fu classes, and the Recovery Accelerator has really helped with that. It has tumeric in it, which is great for inflammation. The Tropical Flavor is pretty good with coconut water. The Apple Berry flavor tastes a little weird, after experimenting, I've found that it's pretty good with unsweetened vanilla almond milk. It reminds me of the milk left over after eating a bowl of cereal.4Tastes good, good results.First off, I haven't taken any other supplements targeted for "post workout" before. That being said I lead a fairly active lifestyle on top of weightlifting. I'm a massage therapist by trade- I run my own practice. I would not be able to work and lift heavy weights without this supplement. Sometimes heavy lift days would leave me yelling from the pain of post workout soreness and fatigue. I no longer experience pain and I recover much faster now. I like the taste of this too, mixes well with my fruit juice when I'm feeling fancy.Only down side is it doesnt dissolve completely with water. Its really not that bad though, just a little gritty at the end.It it's any help, I'm a 26 y/o female with arthritis in my knees and hips. This stuff helps me feel better.5Best Recovery Drink out there !!If you are a runner or you do a heavy taxing muscle activity that gives you sore muscles all the time, I recommend you try this product. I wanted to switch up the flavors but they are all good. Tropical flavor is the best for me. I have used this product after running or training for a marathon or even working out. I don't have achy muscles like I did before. Plus the ingredients doesnt have all that Gluten and other chemicals that other workout recovery drinks do. Which gave me a lot of side effects....5Not my favorite of the Vega Sport lineNot my favorite of the Vega Sport line, but I've learned a little trick when it comes to this. I got the tropical flavor, which is great, but I was finding that it left a bit of a powdery taste and texture on my tongue. I found that even though it says to mix with cold water that I mix it with room temperature water and then add ice. This way it fully dissolves in the water and I no longer get that coating on my tongue. My only complaint on this product is that I wish it dissolved easier than the pre-worker and hydrator products, but with the little hack I shared, it's perfect!4Confessions of a Vega Romance... aka It really is as good as everyone saysI don't like to admit that I can't live without anything... but I can't live without this.I'm an avid yogi and rock climber. I boulder 2 to 3 times a week and balance out my activities using flow yoga but like most people, I hurt after climbing... I ache and worse still, it takes me a couple of days to recover, which means more downtime than I would like. I discovered the benefits of Vega's Muscle Recovery Accelerator after reading the reviews on Amazon and thought to myself "Sure, why not?" And so began my romance. I took the all natural concoction, Apple Berry, within 30 minutes of finishing off a 3 hour climbing session. Now, I had 30 minute drive home from the gym, a drive which I dreaded after climbing (those of you in the know, know that pumped forearms, coupled with tired and tight fingers don't make for comfortable steering action) but, within 10 minutes of taking Vega, my arms and fingers suddenly felt... normal, nay, really quite amazing and relaxed - not enough to render my driving skills "sloppy" but my arms felt rested. All the lactic acid had been "neutralized" and my drive had home improved vastly, plus I noticed that I wasn't suffering from inflammation and that I was no longer tired. My body was, indeed, recovering!! I continued to take Vega's SRA and had zero complaints about it, but, somewhere along the way, I decided that I needed a break and wanted to go solo, sans Vega... just to see... y'know what I mean? Well, that was a mistake, because I'm sat here writing this review with achy muscles from a climbing session that I did some 3 days ago. I admit it, I made a mistake and now I want you back, Vega!! I'm a fool without you and a fool for leaving you, plus when I'm with you, I don't get sick. Yea, no flu season for me, thank you very much.So in a nutshell: buy this product. You will be happy and able to pursue your active life without having too much downtime and that, my friends, is the truth.5Taste is not great but it worksI don t love the taste, but I can say if you add an ice cube and drink it really cold, that helps.Anyway this stuff probably isn t meant to be delightful. A more important question would be does it actually work to alleviate soreness and help recovery? I would say yes, definitely.A fair value for the price especially if there is an amazon coupon available which there was this time. This is my second time buying the product because again, it does work.I don t use it after every workout but I do use it if I ve had a particularly tough workout where I know I d be way too sore to function the next day. So probably once a week.5Good, almost great.Good, almost great. There's a lot of feedback left to the efficiency of this product. I agree that it is a great post workout product. So, why 4 stars instead of 5? My main hangup with this product is that it contains 4g of Pea Protein. 4g of protein immediately post workout will (probably) do nothing to aid in recovery. Why not take that out and add 4g of free form amino acids? The research behind amino acids post workout is stronger than even protein post workout (in terms of recovery, muscle growth, etc). Also, it bugs me that this product is $1.50/serving, but none of the dosages are at the clinical dosages (i.e. research shows the effective dosage of Glucosamine is 1.5g). All in all this is a great product and a staple in my supplement collection. I would just like to see the Pea Protein removed in favor of BCAA's and some of the dosages bumped up. I would also like to see a sugar free version (similar to their preworkout) because I train in the morning and sometimes would like to intermittent fast, especially when I am on the road.4REVIEW BY A GYM NOOBI don't know a lot about workout supplements but here are some basic things I enjoyed about this product:1. The taste is great. Appleberry is by far my favorite from vega's selection. It is even better blended with other things to make smoothies.2. Recovery felt slightly improved. As a dancer and athlete, the supplement helped especially in days where I had a workout and practice on the same day. Using it to restore some of the glycogen lost in my workouts helps a lot (I barely know what glycogen really does, I just googled it).Things to keep in mind:It is a $1.50 per serving which is fair, but the flavor starts to dull out by the third week so you can't really store it too long without it tasting like straight powder later. It does not dissolve easily so I recommend drinking it in a smoothie or mix it in room temperature water first then add ice after.Hope this helps! :D4The taste is a deal breakerI really wanted to like this product :( I can not stand the taste. I purchased the Apple Berry and it tastes like the clear Pedialyte. It is really hard for me to drink it without feeling nauseous :( aside from the tase I have noticed that I am not as sore as I used to when I was not talking anything, so it has helped with recovery. I plan to finish this tub because it was not cheap, but I do not plan on repurchasing this item.2Can't go without it!I've been doing back-to-back Beachbody programs for two-and-a-half years now. After two rounds of Body Beast Bulk I can honestly say that this stuff WORKS!!! Hands down. I was barely sore after punishing workouts. I was just, you know, the good sore. :-) You're not just buying a recovery formula, you're buying quality ingredients.I love the tropical flavor, taste like fresh mango. I look forward to it after my workout. If you're hesitating, don't.I also can't live without the Energizer. :-)5
